Previous Day :: Next Dayjoker: Re: Peter
Huh? Most cathedrals at least in Europe were ordered and founded by either kings, bishops or (in rare cases) the guilds and citizens of a town... I never heard of an architect just coming along and saying "Okay, I'll build a church here" on a whim... can you show... Peter: i never saw this until now. nice! Peter: thats really weird... Peter: woah. i saw this photo and was simultaneously creeped out and fascinated. yup, its powerful. im enjoying your posts, man. thanks for taking a fancy to the site! Peter: i sure cant wait for the weather to warm up a bit so i can hit coney island again! i swear, after this past winter in brooklyn, im going to be out there like every day... Peter: word, thats cool shit! Peter: wow, thats a pretty fragmented style. i think i dig it! it says: Warning i am armed - stay away unless you are the police. Someone here all - the time - For real Peter: check this one out also Peter: finally!! a new post to add to this one and this one. please post more! MLKN: peace, love and ONE RESPECT.
hasslehoff: that is interesting. I didn't know that. That's why i love this website Peter: i know the exact vantage point of that photo... thats not too far from my house! Peter: in olden orthodoxy, the cathedral is supposed to be perpetually "under construction", growing larger and more ornate until the messiah returns. Peter: cool. no wonder it looks like a painting :) hasslehoff: There is an informative article complete with photos of Don Justo's Cathedral here. He is an inspiration. hasslehoff: I believe he is well over 70 and it's very unlikely that he will finish the cathedral within his own lifetime. This was commonplace in the past as ancient cathedrals took many generations to reach completion. The difference here, however being that, sadly this cathedral will undoubtedly be torn down... hasslehoff: i very much like the digital artwork you've been posting here Natali: Re: Don Justo's Self Built Cathedral
Wow. This is truly an amazing story. How old is he? Is it feasible that he'll finish it before he dies? How could he receive such lack of support? Joe: Re: NYC Skyline
No, it is digitally painted, not a filter, from photo Peter: wow, that looks like a modern van gogh. is that a manipulated polaroid? Peter: wow... when i read the part about him building despite not having the proper qualifications or permissions from the government, i started thinking... "is that any different from the builders of history's great cathedrals of the past?"
not really.
this is a great story. i hope that his cathedral reaches completion, is... Peter: i like shots like these because they give me a broad view of places ive never seen... and might not. nice. i, for one, like em. Peter: totally. i wish more people would add a little blurb or two to their photos. though sometimes the randomness is nice, i like getting a little background too. also: i love that entry that you linked to. thats one of my favorite ones on here. Peter: totally- some good content as of late! Peter: fuzzytank: try to submit it again and ill delete this old version. thanks! Peter: WOAH. thats cool! the gherkin. heh. haiku: i said i had warts

roughrider condoms hasslehoff: Re: Peter's comment - and this one time, at band camp... hasslehoff: photos of how the roads looked, images of neighborhoods developing and decaying through time
This article and this article are quite interesting reads on this subject. just my two pence. hasslehoff: this is one of the most creative things i have seen here. hasslehoff: you know, they had to close that bridge not long after first unveiling it as the swaying motion whilst walking along it made people feel ill. They stregthened it or something, no doubt spending millions of pounds more taxpayers money. but hey! we have a wobbly foot bridge an a... citynoise admin: you have to upload your pics using the upload form on the submission page. it's very similar to the old site. binnie: hippies rule hasslehoff: i really like the stuff you've been posting. it's great when people post just a small piece of text to accompany their images. A picture speaks a thousand words but somehow a few words can amplify this to a much greater extent. viva text hasslehoff: this guy reminds me of this guy hasslehoff: i don't think they're boring. citynoise is something that seems to polarize opinion. You either get it or you don't. I mean the graff content is a different matter. I think most people, wheter they agree with the ethos behind it not not, or wheter they would even care to... hasslehoff: not odd at all. this is indeed fitting. i like this image very much and the text accompanying it sets it off beautifully. I hope this is the beginning of an enjoyable new trend on citynoise Peter: yo all the london photos rule! thanks man. id love to see more... watcher: i wish someone could get a today picture.. that would be awesome.. it hasnt changed all THAT much in the last 30 years though i think. i was there 2 years ago, and it looked similar to the 76 picture ifi recall correctly Peter: wow, thats hit up. lets see more philly graf and street art! i like your photos. Peter: heh, i didnt even see this earlier... nice. i lvoe the vacant effect from no people being in the photo. nice. Peter: i wish you took more photos too, but i guess you never really value it until you dont have it anymore... which leads me to thinking i should probably take more photos of my area now!
do you still have the toy digicam? that thing made some good shots, man.
and you... Peter: my wife, a florida native, seems to recall the building- to the above right of the texaco sign- as being where she stayed in tallahassee during band camp, growing up. small world, huh? Peter: wow, i love it! its nice to have a drawing of yours here, for sure. i really love this sort of entry- good visuals with a solid bit of text. nice. sine fonem: ugliest penis evar.
