sonnet: When I hear parents talking today about arrangeing "play-dates" for their children, it makes me laugh as I think back to a real Kensington childhood. We just all played outside on the sidewalk (or the middle of the street) every spare moment after school til dark and all day...

UNSURE..: Well I have lived here most of my life. I have 3 kids and a X husband. I hate it here but can't get away from here either. I do not get welfare even though I am a single mom, nor child support as far as that goes. I hate...

Rob Tynan: Hi everyone, Fred Dawes was the father of Martin Dawes, the multi media and TV empire in Gemini Warrington. Does anyone remember the two houses that adjoined to Luptons. They were demolished in the late 70s I think. Rob

David Stonehouse: All of us at Evergreen were thrilled with Toronto's embrace of Earth Hour and indeed all staff went to enormous lengths to do our part. Unfortunately, when it comes to Brick Works site we are not responsible for the day-to-day operations as of yet. As many of you know Evergreen has...

clucky hen: We just returned from Kauai, and we must also admit, the birds made the trip. Everywhere you go, from Walmart to the beach- you will see birds. They are hillarious and beautiful. Not to worry, however, they are aloof enough that they don't harass you or chase after you or...

Susan Taylor (nee O'Reilly): Hi Cyril The bank was at the top of Caroline Street, was Martin's then Barclays, the wallpaper shop was Lupton's, then a dry cleaner's called Irlam Valet Service, further along the road their was Billy's (I think that was his name), the Buther's and Millington's the toffee shop. Newton: At their core, they're just a commercial enterprise, and are in business to make money, just like everyone else. Such a simple, blatant action as disregarding Earth Hour is practically enough to nullify all the environmentally-friendly content liberally splashed across their website (www.evergreen.ca/en). I guess trying to appear environmentally friendly...

cyril bagshaw: Hi Susan The bakery which you knew as Potter's Bakery for many years previous, was owned by James Goodier, brother of Joseph Goodier, who incidentally was the organist at St John's church in Vicar Lee's era,and owner of the larger bakery at the corner of Boat lane and Liverpool road across...

Susan Taylor (nee O'Reilly): Hi Cyril The shop that was on the corner of Dixon Street was Potter's Bakery, what delicious cakes she produced, smell of her baking would waft down Dixon Street she made them in an outhouse at the back of the shop. We would be allowed out of school to collect pies...

cyril bagshaw: Hi Alan, Ah! Musnt be the same family,Ken is at least 11 years my junior. The Beswick brothers I mentioned both delivered on their greengrocery round to the Margarine works estate in the 1950's. The double fronted shop next to the old telephone exchange I always knew as Beswicks Creamery. Cheers Cyril.....

Ryan S.: Apparently these people haven't been to Hamilton, KS. Just 2 hours from Hutch is a speck of nothingness that contains barely 300 people. By 3 PM, no matter what day, mainstreet is dead without any cars driving on it. There are probably more goats than people here. It sucks.
