Previous Day :: Next DayGGP: that's a really great shot--dreamlike sally: where is the fountain of loins? Claire: amazingly nice picture, where abouts is that? Elicar: Lovely, part 2. Elicar: Lovely! GGP: jeez, sine, we were there shooting pink at the same time, seems like. GGP: hey, little girls in pink can be tough!!
yes, as Basho wrote, "this lovely late cherry…did not forget to blossom"--well, in this case, it's this lovely early cherry that did not forget to blossom--and its job is to remind the other cherries to do the same. Traumatized: the same thing happened to me today on the 7 train going toward flushing at about 9:30 am. this bald headed middle eastern man came in and started playing with himself...being one of the two people in the train car, i was horrified when he pulled out his "member" and... Get out of your car, buddy: Hey Jenna,
I think we are on different wavelengths. Toronto is in fantastic shape. The region is not (this includes former suburbs that have been amalgamated, where you can't seem to get your bus). Does more need to be done, yes, absolutely. We need to keep investing... jeeff: you're lucky they didn't jump you and break your camera.
the sakura look beautiful! spygirl_t: I love the first shot!!! I get nervous when taking pics of people in NA, so on occasion I shoot from the hip, which sometimes works like magic.
Be brave and keep shooting! It's so worth it. Elicar: That explains why I don't know it! ;) grange: Maybe they have a bull horn attached that yells"
"Homeless person , step away from the garbage "" Tyfoid Kid: Yet another cool idea from the Citynoise folks. Loitering is hard to do when you're not loitering but have a purpose. sam: o n by the way its stil purdy
Bullish on Toronto!: Geeze! I'm not local, and I know that one. Hello. It is pretty old hip hop culture that seems to be spreading to the mainstream. T-dot, O-dot (TO). Rockin' the t-dot, etc, etc. Don't think the tourist people know about it, but they should. It's... Catherine Penfold-Waxman: well said. Elicar: Don't quote me on this a'la, but I believe it is because of www.toronto.com/. You'll find everyting you need to know when visiting Toronto there, especially if you plan to go whining, er, wining and dining! ;) Peter: the mystery is half the fun, id imagine... grange: awwwwwwww hummmmmmm..... shrinky dink comes to mind ....
And i still cant find any bears in the pictures ... grange: Peter, I have hand it to you , your better than elaine at getting something going accidently ...lol..
Weird how that happens , I think its the times we live in .
grange: Welcome aboard GGP...EH! anon (cyfairisd-062.phonoscope.com): No, Hell no ! I wouldn't want for neither Mexico & the U.S. to come together and become one nation ...that's american globalization of the world. Why ? well both nations have their beginnings & history, their traditions, culture, ways of life and different opinions of describing life on both sides... jeeff: chiamattt - no. i tried to hang around a few other days, but i didn't catch anyone. usually i just left and continued on to work. obviously it's hard to loiter around inconspicuously as a white dude in tokyo, especially if you have a camera. i... spygirl_t: Who knows who thought up, I believe it's being used a to market to tourists... but I don't know anyone here, who actually says t-dot. jenna: Toronto is a great place. But I still stand by my previous statement. I have travelled alot throught this crazy planet and I understand that we have it good. But the city is growing so much, so fast and we have little in place to keep with the boom. The... a'la: Can someone explain what "T-Dot" means? I realize it's a name for Toronto, but why? Peter: so far, hands down, its "ashleys", the little hole-in-the-wall with the bright orange facade and the plastic chairs out front sitting in the wedge-shaped storefront at/near the intersection of sterling and flatbush, just up flatbush (towards grand army plaza) from "natural land", the crunch (nee park slope fitness) gym, and... Bullish on Toronto!: Man, that city is kick ass!! You people have no idea how good you have it. Just look at the growth you guys have experienced. Something right is happeing there. I was in the t-dot last summer, and it blew my mind. Yes, the suburban areas... GGP: who has the best vegetable patties in the neighborhood, peter? inquiring minds want to know. a'la: LOL! Peter: ahh, i used to live down the block from a place like that... home of the $25 "diet green-apple snapple" (a flavor which, of course, doesnt actually exist, but does a great job of indicating what you really intend to purchase). a'la: Great going, jeef. Pure genius :-) Catherine Penfold-Waxman: I expect that if you handed over $50, you would have got a coke and some flamable vegetable matter. Houston?: Gotta love Houston! They have this amazing public washroom. It has mirrors on the outside, and when you go inside, it is completely see through. Must be really strange to pee in that situation. Also, they have Shiner Bock (which we don't get around here). ... Peter: strangely, i went in there looking for veggie patties (a new quest im on- to try all the veggie patties in the neighborhood, heh) and discovered that they had no food at all on hand, save for some bags of chips and a half-stocked cooler of soda. hmm... GGP: mmmmm...roti! GGP: it kills me just thinking about it. GGP: "My heart is the shyest object in the world. It has numerous qualities carelessly mixed together and insectlike roots that can perceive the entire universe in an instant. It blushes when it dies and becomes a monster when it loves....It becomes a periscope each spring. It would like to be... GGP: rightthehellon, nemesis--i am ALL for seceding! or joining up, through some special arrangement, with Canada. Biff: This could well be Avril Lavigne's car... Tyfoid Kid: Stored properly ON the furniture too. nemesisbecoming: Haha. Nice usage of the subway motto. I love it...
Oh, and just to be technical. NY's BEEN SAID SOMETHING during the freakin election, calling all this would go down but no one believed us. The effing RNC? Who did a huge rally protesting this? We did. And who was so... Tyfoid Kid:
Don't know. It's been there about 10 years or so. no1def: dam that shits sad hours and hours of work destroyed with a few minutes of crappy ass roller, but the again you cant get in the game with out getting your shit buffed. no1 def fuck kbt and epc! were takein ova... elaine: ooh, ouch, brr!
i think that would probably actually kill me. a'la: www.attackonamerica.net/proofofc . . . rolleddemolitionatwtc.htm
www.letsroll911.org/articles/con . . . controlleddemolition.html
www.911-strike.com/demolition_explosive.htm Tyfoid Kid: I think this would be harder to do then what we do. We just go in thourgh a hole in the ice. No chance to chicken out and turn back (I'm the smaller of the two guys on the edge there.)
Peter: a sticker i saw on a similar metrocard vending machine in the wtc station this morning:
the cameraphone pic makes it hard to make out, but it reads something like:
##"...WTC controlled demolition [undiscernable web-link] www.stopthelie.com [undiscernable web-link] www.911truth.com..." Peter: just one more case of bush (and the "powers that be") letting new york (and the rest of the country) down...
*sigh* Tyfoid Kid: So the next time I'm "Up North" by Rainy River I can just hop on the road across the border and boom I'm in Toronto?? Cool!! Eh maybe I'll just get to it via Duluth and Thunder Bay. elaine: people were on this show who didn't get their chronic symptoms (yes, chronic, that means over time, duh!) until after some arbitrarily defined window of time, so were simply not compensated, and of course they can't work now because they can't breathe!
bloody hell, and i think i am badly... GGP: they abandoned them, yes indeedy...and they abandoned us all, and lied through their teeth about air safety in the days and weeks following (thank you christine todd whitman & co.). recent studies show women who were pregnant at the time of 9/11 who lived within a mile or so of... elaine: i see many things. perhaps i am god?
hey, apropos the real content of this, we had a news item yesterday about how the us govt has abandoned the firefighters and other survivors of 9/11 to their health problems and corresponding debts. they showed bush with his loud hailer at the... Peter: cool. nice little slice of life. drea: Yeah...nothing much happens around here... Peter: yup, its the old schwinn. i took my aero/bullhorn bars and just flipped em over. heres another shot:
the, i got the custom frame, which i built up to race in monster track 6:
sometimes, though, i prefer riding it with the old bullhorns:
Peter: hahahaha... gross... Peter: my mom lived in seoul for years in the 70s... shes had a chronic case of pneumonia that strikes every winter, and the doctors say it most likely stems from the wear-and-tear her lungs took during those years in korea.
i think thats why they wear the masks. Peter: franklin is a littel far north, sort of pushing crown heights, but id recommend prospect heights, for sure. its safe, of course. this isnt hte brooklyn of the 1970s anymore, you know ;) Peter: jeeff: a brilliant idea, indeed. and the recursive scheme of the art inside is hilarious. when they get to the "?", they'll be like "huh?!" and not even realize, at first glance, that their "huh" is exactly what that "?" represents. classic!
have you gotten any hits/contact via your site from... Peter: also fun: calling the payphone at the boathouse in central park (212-650-0786) and asking how the weather is. its nice; sometimes, you can chat up a passerby for about a half hour, if youre bored. i ask them to tell me a story, and about 50% will actually do it.... Get out of your car, buddy.: And to make matters worse, apparently you live in Markham. That's gotta suck too. Catherine Penfold-Waxman: Brilliant. Having a grand idea, documenting it and following through. Great stuff. Elicar: Peter, here's some more.
Elicar: I love lighthouses! steam: Suicide hotline? If your planing to top yourself when do you make the time for a chat? Crispy: First off, let's get away from this living in fear shit. It's driving us all into little virtual cages of our own design and allowing the very people who wish to rape and starve us into submission to have their way, to become richer, fatter, more cavalier with all that... Myke: Yeah, that's great! Biff: I was also there at lunchtime and my camera's batteries were exhausted and I also had no change. So I went to the square and had my peanut butter on rye and fed the pigeons...Thinking of you. Jamie: these have more style than the concrete cows of milton keynes elaine: looks a bit funkier than his usuals, i am guessing it's earlier? Jamie: hah, what an interesting story/project. this is my favourite kinda stuff chiamattt: That is the coolest project yet! It's so rad. Do you have more shots of people finding the eggs? jeeff: actually i did that when i worked at the cn tower. sometimes we had to go stand in the lobby for hours at a time. it was boring and there were payphones nearby. i wonder if he had the call traced. jeeff: i'd never prank a suicide hotline. i mostly like to leave messages on peoples voicemail. i did my best joe pesci mobster impression on a brooklyn lawyer's answering machine. Elicar: So Jeeff, that was you! I used to volunteer at the Distress Centre. This is suppose to be a suicide hotline but most of the calls I received when I did my required overnight shift once a month were obscene calls. Oh, they were so good at fooling us. Here... alison: Hi there:
I'm considering moving to Prospect Heights (renting). Could you tell me how the neighborhood is? I saw a listing for a place on the corner of Franklin and Bergen. Is that is safe area? Are there any down sides to that area?
THANX!
jeeff: haha that's great. i sometimes do the reverse when i'm bored in a public place. i dial random 1-800 numbers from payphones. you will be amazed at what you find, particularly if you try to dial numbers that make words (eg. 1-800-GET-BENT [altho i haven't tried this... Elicar: "Over the years, Highway 11 grew to stretch from downtown Toronto all the way to the Minnesota border. Highway 11 became synonymous with Yonge Street, the name of the street in Toronto which formed its southernmost segment. It is from this that Yonge Street gained (somewhat controversially) notoriety as the... jeeff: street names are a the domain of the city. once you're outside municipal boundaries the provincial govt has a different naming scheme. b: LA is purdy too..
EvilGentleman: The maple trees here are starting to sprout leaves now. Spring has sprung. EvilGentleman: I have always heard that Yonge Street is the world's longest street, but when I was in North Bay in December, it was not called Yonge Street there, although Hwy 11 is supposed to be Yonge. I wonder why that is? Elicar: video.google.com/videosearch?q=chalkmaster Micah: I thought of another one while riding along (on bike not bus) the other day: sitting in an articulated bus, in the articulated part, and staring at the floor as the bus turns a corner. Then determining whether or not the sight of the floor turning without you makes... Micah: Ah okay, thanks. So much for my sociolinguistic curiosities :p EAZY: YEA MAN!!!! thanx 4 THE PIC THAT SHIT IS BOMBING!!!!!!!! AND I NEW A PICTURE EXISTED Elicar: I must really be hungry, I ntended to include this en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yonge_Street spygirl_t: wonder why they were so hot? something spicy perhaps... Micah: What does it say with the picture of the baby and "we hope for your helping hands"? Is it an orphanage, a children's hospital, a charity? Micah: If you wanna see mullets galore you should go to Cornwall, Ontario. When I was living there five years ago its citizens appeared to be still living in the 80s. Of course they might have caught up to the 90s now and have long grunge hair... Really... Elicar: Editor, could you fix my boo-boo please? www.chalkmaster.com. I am just a pretty face, sometimes. Thank you! chiamattt: I very rarely like tags but I like this one. I had to look at it for a while. More up down business. left right is so done.
Harold Jordan: eh boo boyz-you talk like retarded british girl.
Stay up Hell. NCO STAR : hey, ya must love Dongdaemun & Donghodaegyo!! hehe. i think i need a hair cut to follow the new trend - like the middle school couple! Joe blow: Peter: Anal clinic and cracked straight up? heheh spygirl_t: Osaka... I'm getting more jealous as time passes. I started by own business, as a way to travel and see things outside of Toronto.
I'm lucky though, my mother is French and my father was Indian... I've had the oportunity to travel a fair bit and see new and exciting... spygirl_t: This is my favorite building in the whole world. I've been there so many times, anyone interested in architecture, photpgraphy and science in general... would apreciate how the light effects the objectives like things that let light inside. I think the last time I was there I spent 5 hours... spygirl_t: If you think TO has clean subways, you should see the one in Kolkata. It's the cleanest part of the city.. and a cultural shock of it's own. Especially if you been travelling India for a few months and you foget what clean really means. Don't get me wrong .....
