in response to March 16 2006 Toronto

EvilGentleman: I have a few shots I took of Inuit elders that I took which I feel are really good, but unfortunately those particular elders have since passed away, and I am not sure how their families would react if their pictures are posted here for all to see.

in response to Arctic Landscapes II

GGP: ruralnoise, citynoise, it's all earthlynoise!

in response to Arctic Landscapes II

EvilGentleman: Ow... I shall mourn the demise of AJ's in much the same way as I mourn the passing of the last A&W drive-in that I ever saw. (It was in Saint John, N.B. near the junction of higways 1 and 7 and closed sometime in the 1990's) As far as the...

in response to Arctic Landscapes II

GGP: EG, I'm also very interested in your posts on this topic--the pictures and the intelligent, informative writings.

Peter: i just like seeing this sort of stuff. ive never seen anything like this before!

in response to Muktaaq and Arctic Char a La Box

EvilGentleman: Thanks, Peter. I will start digging through my archives. But I have to run right now and do a few errands, so it may be a while.

in response to Muktaaq and Arctic Char a La Box

Typo: And oh... we don't eat it just like that, since it's pretty strong *that you would hold your nose and still smell it* it is best eaten with frozen lake trout abd frozen caribou...

in response to Muktaaq and Arctic Char a La Box

EvilGentleman: Peter, good pics. I have pics of hunting and the cutting up of beluga whales, but I have not posted them, for fear of attracting the vegan hacker corps.

in response to Muktaaq and Arctic Char a La Box

EvilGentleman: Thanks, typo. I never knew it had to be monitored.

in response to Muktaaq and Arctic Char a La Box

Peter: www.arcticphoto.co.uk/supergal/b . . . gal/ba/ba92/ba9276-28.htm actually, the whole site there is interesting: www.arcticphoto.co.uk/supergal/b . . . a/ba92/ba92.htm#ba9276-28

Peter: tell, tell! this thread is really fascinating, actually... :D

in response to Muktaaq and Arctic Char a La Box

Typo: Hi EG... I'll just add a little bit more... there's a special way to make it... got to keep it in a walrus skin, in a warm place and check on it at times... you have to stir it around once in a while too... if it gets too rotten it...

in response to Muktaaq and Arctic Char a La Box

EvilGentleman: Typo, now you're gonna force me to explain what igunaq is. I am sure the majority of people have never heard of the Inuit delicacy of fermented walrus meat, best served when at least 4 months old and green.

in response to Muktaaq and Arctic Char a La Box

Typo: *lol* It's all good!! You never know until you try it yourslef :p gotta try ROTTEN WALRUS *yummmmy*

in response to Muktaaq and Arctic Char a La Box

EvilGentleman: Yes, sine, it is most unfortunate that global warming is destroying this fragile ecosystem at an alarming rate. I have heard that the rate of global warming is over 6 times faster in the polar regions than it is at the temperate mid-latitudes. From what I have seen, it is...

Micah: Véhicule is French for vehicle. When I did Katimavik (five long years ago!) our PL in first rotation put a sign on the Katima-van to say 'this vehicle stops at all railway crossings' but, being French and I guess a little inattentive, he put 'this véhicule stops at all...
