Previous Day :: Next DayAAK: Lived there for 7 years since i was 7. i lived among the e.o /newark city boundaries and its hard out there. now im in East stroudsburg PA cuz recently i moved and turned 15 and a sophmore in high school.i rep brick city and im proud cuz most dudes... Abdiel: man i laughed so hard !!!!!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!! CartLegger: ah the good old days. Kathy C: Wow! Those photos seem like a lifetime ago. I was about 10 in the 3rd photo - walking with my big brother. Looking at the photos it does appear as if it were a disaster area. But growing up as a child it really didn’t seem... Peter: im in the middle of moving to bushwick from prospect heights right now, actually. ill keep you posted. so far, i really like it in bushwick. if i was worried even the slightest bit, i wouldnt be moving there... Bazz: Thanks Peter, that sounds brilliant. We wanted American culture and it looks like we're gonna get it! The commute will be no problem, I don't think we'll be going into Manhattan much other than work cos it sounds like everything you would want is there! Thanks a million for all... HSH: If there's anyone on this page who's actually living in Bushwick right now, I'd love to get your perspective and hear your experiences. I was just there yesterday looking at properties. Some really gorgeous stuff and one in particular was INSANELY priced. I agree that the neighborhood still has a... PEMA: are those like industrial strength milk crates. why arent they cracking under all that weight???? guess im just not that ghetto jeeff: sure, with 1967 technology. PEMA: Cool i love seeing stuff about bushwick. my husband grew up there and stayed till he was 27 and then moved down south where we met so its so fascinating to me what he life was like up there. way different from how he lives now anyway. ... PEMA: relax honey sometimes kind words go alot farther and last longer. AD: This picture doesnt represent ALL of Montrose. Some of the area has cracked-out broken sidewalks (and pple) that will fracture your ankles if you try to walk on them. There are areas that are occupied by male prostitutes walking the streets. Other areas are nice though, (mostly... AD: Its not being torn down because of the "outdated" movies they show.. Theyre shutting down because their lease is up and its not going to be renewed... AD: I ate there once with a friend from out-of-town, man the food was horrible. I love real Tex-Mex but truly this place was worse than Taco Bell... My friend (who is white) thought the same and we vowed never to eat there again. CE: Thanks! I'm going to have to get more pictures of this place, especially at night when it's all lit up. I used to think the building was really ugly but It's really growing on me. Lady Fualk: Hutchinson is a joke. I wonder why there are so many people posting on this site? I had to search for Hutchinson Kansas Sucks on google to find it.... People must a tired of it.
Also I no criminal, but I feel like I am living Nazi Germany with all... barry:
CE: Thanks for explaining it. Very thorough! You wouldn't happen to know anything about the third picture would you? CE: The design proved too expensive to be produced on a mass scale and would therefore fail in its goal to make affordable housing. It takes a lot of material to make each one of those boxes. Eric: CCP project was absolutely the worst. I had many friends (good people) who lived there. I only hope they made it out OK. I graduated from Kennedy back in 1983 and went on to earn a BS degree from Trenton State College a.k.a The College of NJ. Many fond memories... jeeff: lucky you. there are lots of 'no trespassing' signs now, so i didn't get too close. i agree tho, i wonder why this type of design hasn't been pursued. you get high density without the stifling sameness and alienating anonymity (!) of traditional apartment buildings. computer... jeeff: to put this in context, this is just off the path, seemingly in the middle of a forest. for some reason i expected zombies to attack. joey: looks like someone lost a part
joey: who said they could toss those cars in the ocean, anyway ? joey: they are intriguing austin:
Chiamattt: I seem to remember being inside one of the units at Habitat67. I think an aunt or some sort of distant relative I don't see anymore lived there. They are cool. I wonder why more places like that aren't built? Tehoke: This picture seems to be taken about 5 blocks west of The Sun Life building, from an upper floor of what is now the Quality Inn on Crescent Street or More likely the building that used to be the YWCA in downtown Montreal(or some building that is no longer there...
