Mat-E: Thanks folks. For karma purposes, I should make sure to point out that while that is my house, I am only renting two floors of it...the neighbour upstairs is an arborist (tree scientist, essentially) and a tireless green thumb - I have him to thank for the tulips, peonies,...

in response to Airport Scenes 1

jeeff: also, it looks like it was painted by a high school kid. i don't believe it.

in response to Airport Scenes 1

jeeff: uh, that looks like the scariest mural ever. i would not want to see that in any airport.

in response to Airport Scenes 1

jeeff: nice hubcaps.

Peter: well, im assuming it was written as a secret or a wish or something...

anon (h2.125.39.162.ip.alltel.net): I WENT TO THERE PARTY IN THE EARLY NINETIES IT WAS THE BEST BIKER PARTY I EVER WENT TO GLAD TO SEE THEY ARE STILL AROUND THE BROTHERHOOD THERE IS THE REAL DEAL

in response to Imperial Bikers Motorcycle Club

Peter: chris: that sounds neat- a bus personality pictorial, heh. very citynoise.

in response to L\'autobus

Chris Erb: We have four different types of busses in Fredericton, these are the oldest ones which I imagine will be retired soon as I heard transit is getting some federal funding and there are plans to buy new busses. I've assigned personalities to all the busses, I'll take some pictures...

in response to L\'autobus

Peter: oh wow, i missed the comment about mable the first time around! also: please get some pics of the "17" building/sign?

in response to Toro, Toro, Toro

KT: They also sell worms and live bait for fishing. If I catch the fish with their bait, can they make some trout rolls for me?

in response to Vespas

Peter: where i grew up, in , most of the hydrants were blue, with the caps and tops painted white. apparently, they do it for visibility, especially in rural/overgrown areas. here in , most of em are rusty black-gray. youre guaranteed to find several lining each block, so i suppose visibility...

in response to Fire

EvilGentleman: Somewhere here in the Montreal region, I know I have seen blue fire hydrants, but I'm not sure where.

in response to Fire

t@ngent: i like how your cameraphone has taken a suitably 1970s style photograph of it too

in response to 1972 300sel

Peter: ahh, that second photo! so pretty. in the deepest days of winter, i daydream about like that.

in response to Remember Spring?

Peter: ooh, i love those oldskool gmc busses with the double-headlights! growing up, we called those "CARTAs", cause that was the name of my town's pubtrans system. when i saw that photo, i almost hastily commented "oh, look! a carta!"... those old busses also have a distinctive engine-sound. straight up ...

in response to L\'autobus

Peter: lol. my grandfather grew up/lived in a town that had yellow , a few hours away from where i grew up. he was in the habit of saying "is a firetruck yellow?!" (in the same way as one would say "is the sky blue?!", in answer to an obvious question)......

in response to Fire

Peter: great photos! i love that third one... rad. id love to see more like this, for sure!

in response to Docklands/ghostlands

Susannah : I think Belleville seems to be by far the most desolate on the list....is everyone related in these towns?

in response to America\'s Most Boring Towns: 10

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: There are a lot of interesting things about DIA. Ghosts, curses, very upset Native Americans. I'll try to find the gargoyle when I'm there, if security doesn't get me first.

in response to Airport Scenes 1

SUSANNAH: Way too funny - Welcome to the neighborhood!! I wouldn't want to move in there.

in response to Yuppy Scum

Chris Erb: The yellow trucks used to freak me out when I first moved here. I couldn't figure out why they were yellow when the rest of the world has red trucks. The thing that really freaks me out however is cities with yellow or orange fire hydrants. I actually ripped...

in response to Fire

Chris Erb: The post above was me. I also jsut noticed that the tree in front of the bus doesn't have any leaves.

in response to L\'autobus

anon (131.202.58.26): The reason this is so sexy is because this is the equivalent of public transit pornography in my city. We do indeed have those terrible buses with the ads on them, they just don't put them on the older busses because they're not as big and the sides arn't...

in response to L\'autobus

aer suzuki: very cool set of shots, thanks.

in response to Day in the Life

aer suzuki: far, far sexier than a seattle metro bus, look at those way cool headlights, and you can't go wrong with blue and white. seattle busses are painted up whores. really, they're putting huge garish advertisments on the entire sides of the busses. they even cover the windows with some sort...

in response to L\'autobus

aer suzuki: awesome photos, i thought the first one was pretty cool, but then the second and third were even better, good job.

in response to Docklands/ghostlands

aer suzuki: Catherine : Right before I posted this article I did a search for Denver International Airport and I found this : http://www.geocities.com/baja/5692/ I had no idea there was a gargoyle in D.I.A., and no idea there was a conspiracy theory based on the airport, complete with Nazis, Masons, and a connection to...

in response to Airport Scenes 1

benji: hehe thanx, the cameras actually just sitting on the ground or on nearby objects, but yeah i ended up with a pretty grubby belly after lying down so much

in response to Docklands/ghostlands

Brandon: eww thats gross

in response to chicago gay pride parade

EvilGentleman: Good use of the mini-tripod. I have one of those, too. They sure make some night shots fun, but you gotta be careful lying on the ground at night to take the shots.

in response to Docklands/ghostlands

EvilGentleman: I thought yellow trucks were for lemonade. Actually, Cornwall, Ontario has yellow fire trucks too. And the flashing lights on police cars in Utah were yellow, or yellow and green, from what I remember from my 1989 road trip. A little chance to jump on your typos: Did you cause much...

in response to Fire

EvilGentleman: Now THAT is public transit! If I go to Fredericton, I am definitely telling the bus driver that they have a nice rack. Of course, if the driver is female, things may get a little complicated, but that's life...

Scott Sargent: Nice photos, Gus. I like the European automobiles. Could you make more photographs of such automobiles for us 'Yanks'? :-D

in response to Barnoldswick

Scott Sargent: Imagine that! Whomever you are, wherever you are is where its at, non? People are naturally defensive. Go Figure. I mean, , . Seriously. Its nice that someone surfed in, though, really. I do sincerely appreciate new perspectives. But yes, that was part of the goal. Ergo the extensive Googling and...

in response to Barnoldswick

Chris Erb: There appears to be a trend starting. Post after post, residents of Scott Sargent 's boring towns are coming out and declaring that their towns are not indeed as boring as he depicts them.
