Previous Day :: Next Dayjeeff: there was an intersection nearby. my camera is a point-and-shoot but it also has good manual features. i use those when i shoot at night. if the colour shift continues to bug you, just "fix it in post" as those in the film industry say. luckily... aer suzuki: thanks for the comments, and thanks for the editing [filling in my title/location for me]. EvilGentleman: Wow, 20 second exposures? So what was the light source behind you that made the grass reflect green? Every time I try this sort of stuff, I get a severe colour shift, usually from whatever the artificial light source was. big blue bob: ogc what is that? jeeff: sometimes when it's cloudless it gets fairly dark in spots. otherwise, not really. however keep in mind those are 20 second exposures. affordablehousingnow: I agree with the last post. Affordable housing, not inflationary prices for bushwick. Let's not push all of the people out of Bushwick like they were pushed out of wburg, etc.
Catherine Penfold-Waxman: These are lovely shots. Really beautiful. EvilGentleman: Somehow, I think a trade should be brokered. That WTC piece should sit in a display case at the top of the Sears Tower, and you should swipe a few doorknobs or something from the Sears Tower, and toss them into the drying cement of Freedom Tower's foundation. EvilGentleman: LOL, jack. You just reminded me of the Monty Python dead parrot sketch. When the owner tried to take advantage of the lifetime guarantee, it soon became apparent that the guarantee was over since the parrot's life had ended. Hiphopmuneca: That was real nice it made me appreciate the city i live in a lot more than i already do.... EvilGentleman: The city lights reflected off the clouds provided perfect illumination for a shot taken at 12:45 AM (assuming your camera's clock was set right). It never really gets dark there, does it? Unless the power goes out... Hiphopmuneca: It looks so peaceful EvilGentleman: Nice find. Definitely some good optical illusion effects in that shadow, too. Now I know where the puzzle-makers get their ideas from. EvilGentleman: And all I knew of Glenn Miller was "In The Mood", "Moonlight Serenade" and "Pennsylvania 6-5000" (the phone number of the Pennsylvania Hotel on 7th Ave, if my grandmother told me right). EvilGentleman: Jack, are you telling me that there are Vietnam vets out there who do not know what cannabis plants look like? Even if you were totally straight arrow, then you should still recognize the stuff.
Cuz as far as I know, half the US military in those days were hippies that... jack: one of my favorite songs is 'along the santa fe trail' played by glenn miller. if you ever have an opportunity to hear it you will like it. jack: i like the pipes. that is an attack killer dog. jack: very melodramatic look, i want to see a super agent or 007 in this shot. jack: back in the 70's a dude would stand on the corner of albany street and washington street and keep his nickel bags in the top of a broken johnnie pump 'fire hydrant'. jack: great for mechanical drawing classes. jack: is it your lifetime or theirs? jack: another good man killed. jack: nice pic's tamara. jack: elaine thx, there was a movie of a mannequin on the 13th floor of a department store where every day a new mannequin would have the feedom to walk and talk like a human. this one mannequin forgot she was a mannequin and wanted to stay as a human.... Editor: hi tamara,
the location for an article usually refers to the location in the photos, rather than your current location. makes it easier for people to search the site. what should i change this to? -------, cambodia? Jimmy: No love for the southside? Sure Englewood and Cabrini Greens is rough, but good folks still live in Mt. Greenwood and Beverly!
Also, what neighborhood is Cabrini technically in? EvilGentleman: Banks in NDG tend to get robbed a lot, so they prefer to keep their glass clean. Had you been running with a money bag when you hit the glass, you would have wound up on the "America's Dumbest Criminals" TV show. (Like AFV, they show Canadian stuff, too). Those... N3k$ NSK crew : Rest In Paint "S@ne" i have had this obsession with grafitti since i was a kid
I dont know what it is almost like i was infected by a graf virus
I had this strange urge to go places looking for throw ups constantly going places
the average person wouldnt care... Peter: ...of what? mofidious? so soon? Peter: those leaves in the original photo do look a bit like salvia divinorum, though, which some people also smoke recreationally: www.erowid.org/plants/salvia
joey: are you using some special lens? joey: jack with the sci-fi spin. i was thinking more along the lines of the eyeglasses billboard in f. scott fitzgerald's 'the great gatsby'. witnesses to life without emotion. mofidious: the end Tamara: If you have been smoking leaves like those above, you've been enjoying something else.. 'Pot' leaves look like this...
EvilGentleman: If only I had known. I think I opted for the club sandwich. I guess I'll have to go back and order the spaghetti this time. Lemme see, on the weekend, that should be an 8-hour drive from here... Phill : Can someone get a photo of the spray painted white boy killer at the top? Phill : To give you an update cabrini green is still currently alive. There are five buildings still standing that people live in that arn't under demolition, however there are six that have been demolished. The cabrini green extension homes or red buildings, are no longer there they have been demolished, only... EvilGentleman: Chris, I wonder if your dad also owns a Karen Osoway piece. You should check it for signatures, next time you go back to the Sussex area. EvilGentleman: Your mother is a very nice and very talented lady. I only wish I could have taken better quality photos to do her work the justice it deserves. The store was quite interesting, as well. I am sure that my friend from Cornwall who I went there with has since... Chris Erb: Growing up in a rural town in New Brunswick, I saw all kinds of this stuff. My dad actually has a giant saw blade in his house with an image quite simular to this one except that it has a black background. Chris Erb: These photos are great. I almost feel like I'm there. Michael Morrison: This wonderful diner was a part of my childhood in Aberdeen. I have never tasted spaghetti and meatballs that could rival the dish there, my favorite - and that was 45 years ago!!! I never forgot it, and I've been to the swankiest Italian restaurants in the world - but... Choja: are there any parkour groups for ... um, older people?
It looks very cool but I'm sure we oldens could do it just as well as you sprites!
:D Peter: i like the awning on the st. marks bodega to the left, in the first shot. also nice: how outdated/faded some of the posters in the window of royal video are... Elder: le parkour é um esporte massa...to praticandu ah pouco tempo....
axei massa , aki onde agnt treina tem pouca gente q se interessa pelo esporte...
...
mais aos poucos a gnt vai aumentandu o grupo... Peter: wow, great shots, man. i can definitely see how the psychadelia could suck you in, too. i love the inky, purply sky also. Peter: i love this photo. i noticed the window/bars/shadow and asked sine to snap it. to me, it looked like a big, steel flightless box-kite. or an optical illusion... extended out or distended in? jack: beautiful pic. how were the mosquitos. jack: this is definitely an artists delight and an architects mathematical slant. jack: great photos. i love the way shadows of the trees fall on the buildings. jack: then what the hell have i been smoking! Melissa: Karen is my mother and I just so happend to google her name and found your article. I really liked that piece and it seems so peaceful. Your pictures are so nice to find on line, it really makes me miss home. Chris Erb: Also, when I was in this part of town, I had to go to the bank. As I was going out the door, I walked right into a pane of glass beside the door and hit my head. The security guard looked asounded by my stupidity and asked... Tamara: Jack: it's not a 'pot' plant, the leaves look very different. jack: is that a 'pot' plant in the first pic? i have no comment on homosexuality. i definitely do not like the way drag queens and weirdos portray the gay community. i'm from a different time and space on this planet. a time when women were home tending... Catriona: I am a catholic and have been made more than welcome in the Shankhill. Tamara: That's what the Pride parade in Toronto has become... very sad, but the corporate beast has taken over the whole affair! Have you all got your party hats on and water guns armed? elaine: nope. read all about it here
www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&sa . . . =define:mannequin&spell=1 Biff:
Biff: Here's the rest... jack: what if they are real humans locked in a trance by some evil genius who has found a way to turn people into mannequins and the mannequined people can see and hear everything but they cant move or speak they just stand there screeming inside, they cant age and just... aer suzuki: good god that's staggering! amazing! can't believe there haven't been more comments on this. fantastic post. aer suzuki: really nice shot though, beautiful. EvilGentleman: Good job with the lighting. Nice shots. t@ngent: norman, do you know gavin cruickshank? Norman Miles: Winning a war or stopping a war,I am a Welshman living in China,I have met some Americans, one had a lot of sense, his comment was,we did not win the war, we stopped it.With the Atomic bomb,N.S.Miles GUS BRENNAN: t@ngent: always open to friendly advice, thankyou Laura Whiting: I went to Portage Adult for my H.S. Look up the definition of the words "parody" and "humor" in the dictionary. Lighten up. joeNader: You need more than just your hat busted to survive if you can't answer questions about their beliefs, symbols, rituals, laws, & can't do the shakes right it's going to get worse. This website after a while probably start selling gangs literature after an item like this. EvilGentleman: Hmmm, I wonder if that dog is any good at picking winning scratch-and-win lotery tickets. EvilGentleman: I'm a consumer slut, I have little brand loyalty. Chris Erb: If the best thing a town has to offer is "national chain outlets" which "offerconvenience and competitive shopping", I don't want to be there. joey: another method to spread the bird flu Chris Erb: Who is this consumer whore friend of mine who is also posting here? I am somewhat confused. joey: One of America's best kept secrets!
La Junta is a growing city on the High Plains of scenic Southeast Colorado. Located strategically on the historic Santa Fe Trail.
To top it all off, several national chain outlets in town offer convenience and competitive shopping for our residents. In short, we believe you... zag: cornstarch works really well instead of flour - it's completely clear and sticks reeaaall well (especially if you follow fray's suggestion and add some sugar when you're cooking it all up). i usually start out with 1 cup cornstarch/2 cups water. it gets pretty thick so you can add more... GGP: oy!! Biff: Those are great cracks... Biff: They taste great, sometimes like pizza though... Previous Day :: Next Day |
