Previous Day :: Next Dayelaine: nice, and yes you do. i like the framing you got there - classic landscape painting - foreground, middle ground, distance, you got other painters too, claude lorrain virtually invented landscape painting, to the point where people simply did not look at landscapes before him, and when he was trendy... Stacey: Please Jamie do not feel that way. I lost my nephew and many, many friends. To hold a piece of the WTC is to hold my family and friends in your hands. To keep a reminder of that day means that you will never forget. To Peter... elaine: boom boom also an empty reference repeat, unless by some oddness you got basil brush on your tv as a kid - he was a glove puppet who was a fox, and he would say something funny then say 'boom boom' for emphasis. he laughed really well, with his snout... elaine: boom boom! ea: looks like yours!
but what I meant was...
to see your framed skies referenced through wrought iron signage
since you're consistent about building onto posts ;) elaine: ooh, nice idea. what you got in the way of sky there? ea: that calls for a series displaying various skies eh elaine: more nothing
jeeff: good point about the link between gambling and psychics. i like the first photo especially - you caught the archetypal psychic parlour. elaine: i really like this, the words hang it together nicely Peter: ive never been to atlantic city, which is a shame, as ive had teh chances and live near enough... maybe someday! elaine: you have the top one as an establishing shot, you don't need the last one - belt and braces! Peter: me too. its very ghostly. i had to add teh second, though, cause while less interesting, the focused parts show a little detail of the station. elaine: i like that first one today Peter: yup, theyre taking their time. there are so many reasons/excuses/bureaucracy/hidden-agendas that i cant even begin to list them here, but im sure you can imagine.
heres another shot from this morning:
Peter: two today:
Peter: id love to know about that too, jeffrey! luna park and coney island are some of my favorite pieces of nyc lore... i love visiting coney. Editor: well, if you consider extreme bandwidth usage to be "disruption to technologies", then thats why the threads get capped and comments stopped... some entries that have 1500+ comments (99% of which are pointless back and forth namecalling) get capped. go figure ;)
not to mention the annoyance page after page of... Peter: ...theyve gotta be protected from the likes of abandoned carts ;) Peter: yeah id like to know too. also: i love how sunlight looks as sunset begins to come on... i call it "the golden hour". DiegoSk8: Com certeza Parkour é tudo de bom...
eu como um praticante ativo recomendo XD
:)))
flwww elaine: thank you. what i meant, just, was that i initially and still define myself as a visual artist, and my first degree was fine art. my work is conceptually driven, and then the materials or form has grown out of that. recently i have been a teacher, and had let... Lili: Looking at the opening sentences for Eye of the Storm you are conveying huge amounts of information. You are poising the readers mind wonderfully.
In two sentences you are opening the readers mind, clearly, into at least four areas while at the same time not limiting the expression. Lili: My sense from the communication that I have had with you is that you are very, very, talented. Your heart comes through.
My definition of the word "artist" is broad. I consider the writer an artist. Andrew: This made me fall out of my chair laughing. I hope he gets ritch off this!
elaine: not until i wrote this. this was my first attempt at something outside of private diary, letters and academic essays. i am an artist firstly, but now attempting to write as well, in order to develop narrative skills, and to explore another means of communication Lili: Are you a writer ? Lili: Eye of the Storm talks to me of many things. The image speaks to me of connected fragments. It has a hallucinogenic feel to it. Lili: I am still absorbing it, will be for sometime. Thank you.
elaine: yes i have Lili: Thank you Jamie. Wonderfully put, Jamie and Elaine. I believe that there is transcendence and that that is the significant example that the story
of Christ set for us. Have you ever been really ill or thought you
might die ? It could just be a really awful flu or... jeeff: peeing in public is common in japan, though frowned upon. they have lots of public washrooms, usually right beside the police boxes. the public washrooms smell bad, and they're all traditional japanese squat toilets (which is good for a public washroom because you never actually touch anything -... jeeff: what is 'the hillmont'? jeeff: it must be fun to operate a wrecking ball. kc: I like the flowers behind the mesh!
