Previous Day :: Next Daylocal : If the recurring theme is Hutchinson is shrinking then why has there been so much devolpment? From 11th and Hendricks to east 30th ave and everywhere in between. It occurs to me that those who are unhappy with the town will make themselves miserable whatever their location, eyes watering and... adam: most jobs are 6-8 miles adam: it wasn't a favela.. i think that photo was in santa teresa. how come everyone in brazil gets so defensive? :) adam: venice was pretty sketchy up until a few years ago. its still not totally cleaned up tho little ukraine: beautiful! great post Andrew Smith: Paul - the area opposite Irlam Locks was a bit of green land between the canal and the 'old river' (the River Irwell old course - the Ship Canal swallowed the Irwell). I have always assumed it was from all the material that was deposited there from digging the locks... mike: some people have mentioned Los Angeles. despite its lack of many tall buildings, we should remember that it is the most filmed and photographed skyline in the world (thank you hollywood). With it's rows of palm trees set against the background of the snow-capped San Gabriels it's truly stunning. Just... upfromflames: Armstrong: sorry for the delay. The answer to your question is an interesting one, since you (as a better off new--white--face the hood) represent one of the forces creating change in this area. Gentrification is the prime reason that Bushwick is now one of the top areas in the city... Sup Party People: Hey Hip Hop has been goin down in Belfast from the early 80s, We were Breakin emceein and rockin beats, and doin Graf since 83, its not a new thing but it seemed to dissapear a bit in the mid 90s but thankfully its now resurfacing!! Freeze II Big Bank Hank: Everytime I see paintings of the hungerstrikers it makes me want to throw up! These men were terrorists/criminals they thought nothing of killing people, blowing up buildings/people, robbing banks, extorting money of people, and generally causing strife to innocent people, they were not heroes, Im no big fan of Thatcher... jeeff: ps. you can find plenty more (and better) photos of the exhibit at flickr.com/search/?q=luminato ... my camera wasn't quite up to the task. jeeff: ps. the sign says "hwy 404 northbound express and collectors ramps closed" chiamattt: EvilGentleman, yeah to be honest, I don't really go out of my way to take pictures of beautiful women. I just walk. I guess having lived here for more than a few years I don't really notice the 'beauty' that you refer to because I don't really think the women... EvilGentleman: I miss that old station wagon. It got pretty good mileage. My current ride, a 1990 Pontiac TransSport van, is pretty hard on gas, so my long cruises are are a lot more rare nowadays. Oh well, maybe one of these days, I will be able to afford something better. EvilGentleman: All in polished chrome, all from my Classic Cars series, which was taken last fall.
joey: there's the new or beta street view google maps feature for the san francisco and oakland area. check it out. googleto oakland groovehouse: I like the Google Maps concept. If I can't give a story about the picture or any decent info, the least I can do is provide a map link to where the picture was taken. groovehouse: "I love the smell of napalm in the morning... mooooooooo!" EvilGentleman: One thing I have noticed about your posts, chiamattt, is the stunning beauty of the women in many of your photos. And then today came along.
The day is boring. Suddenly, a smile comes across my face as I see a new chiamattt post. Knowing what to expect, I get ready... Lisa: Interesting topic, seems to be debated often. Let us sum up the facts: The Hells Angels are outlaws, 1%er's if you will. Outlaws do not live by societal restraints and generally oh make their living committing crimes, hence outlaws. Hells Angels believe in hierarchy and therefore woman are expected... Bonnie: I too lived on Wilson Ave., between Cooper and Moffit Streets -- in the 1950's. We lived on the 3rd floor of one of the cold water railroad flats, right down the street from the subway station, where I used to meet my Dad as he came home from... Catherine Penfold-Waxman: You kinda look like two werewolves directing people to the exits on a plane.
(very, very cool, by the way) jeeff: the erection scares me more than the apron. jeeff: whoops, hit submit too soon. here's the wide view:
jeeff: technically not a self-portrait, but i can't resist:
chiamattt: Scared of dirty aprons? EvilGentleman: That last one might give me nightmares. Previous Day :: Next Day |
