Previous Day :: Next Dayserlingrod: La Ronde, and the fireworks competition. Spain was giving a really great display during our visit. My girlfriend and I thought La Ronde was awesome - what a perfect location for an amusement park! Here in Philly we gotta drive 45 minutes to ride a roller coaster - WTF? Right... Dee: I grew up in Bushwick as a matter of fact iwas born in Bushwick.Iwas born in Wycoff Heights hospital in 1955.I lived in the same house with my family until I married in 78
my mom finally got the hell out of there in 87 after my dad died. I say... EvilGentleman: I see you went to either La Ronde, the Casino de Montreal, the Grand Prix or perhaps the international fireworks competitions? I can't think of much else that is done on Ile Sainte-Helene (The original name of the last metro station before former mayor Jean Drapeau died) Andrew Smith: Hi Deborah
It might well have been located on Allotment Road and I trust your memory on this!
It was firmly Irlam High when I went in the 1980's so I have no personal memory of it's time as Alfred Turner I'm afraid.
Andrew. Deborah Walker (nee Ormandy): Hi Andrew,
Wasn't Alfred Turner School once located on Allotment Road (I seem to think Cadishead Junior School site??), or did I just dream this bit of info up??
upfromflames: Dee: i am so glad that you discovered that site! Your words and perspective is much appreciated on these pages. rose peatel: it looks like it has resantly breeded with a mongoose
(i have been doing my reaserch)
rose peatel: the second to botom chicken strikes me to be very odd
sharkybill: A folly of epic proportions, and a tribute to a man who is confident in himself enough to do what he whats with his life. Structurally, a little scarey. I can't say for sure that the castle will be standing in 100 years. Way too many people... Dee: Just want to say the school song for jhs 111 was
All Hail Enrico Fermi you do know who Enrico Fermi is right????
proudly let us sing
foward we are marching

three chairs Enrico Fermi Dee: I also went to jhs 111. The years I attended were 1966-1969 the school was about a year old then. I hated it, and to the young man that said
your friend wasn't encouraged because he was a Latino I say B.S.
the world was changing at that time .... Brad: That poor forgotten jack-o-lantern looks so sad... :( swimmer: Looks lovely when is the roof going on? Gwen's REAL #1 Fan: COME ON people!!!!!!!!!!!! You actually think your Gwen's #1 fan? To tell you I'm her Real #1 fan. I know all her NoDoubt and solo songs by heart. I even met Gwen at The Sweet Escape Tour on May 9th. I have all of her Harajuku Lovers bags and L.A.M.B... Susannah: I remember it- I was at my father's in Bayridge (joint custody)... Everyone was hanging out...talking...sharing what they had. But some people with shops were guarding them with rifles.
But my mother was working as a visiting nurse in Brownesville or Red Hook(?) - don't really remember. The subways were not... Susannah: hmmmm July 8th? Sascha, New York : Likewise, just heard about Signal Gasoline on the Sirius old-time radio channel.
When was the photograph above taken? By the price of the cigarettes on the sign, it can't be too old.
Are there still Signal gasoline stations in business? boris: looks more like moscow in october near red square joey: it's a tiny reminder, remember.
Brad:
Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. Brooklyn bound.
March 11, 2007 Dee: These pictures just make me angry and depressed. My poor mother had to live in this shit. NO PIZZA DELIVERIES NO CHINESE FOOD DELIVERIES NO DELIVERIES OF ANY KIND. WE looked like the poor bastards that had no money and couldn't move. gates on windows no trusting anyone anymore

Now I'd be petrified but then well it was our home so u thought nobody would harm u. I hated part of... Dee: I don't know if people remeber but alot of the kds used to throw things at the firemen when they were on a call. Also the houses in Bushwick were all clapboard so they burned really fast.
Sorry for the loss of these people. Bushwick had soooooooooo many... Dee: I was born in Bushwick in 1955. I left when I got married in 78. Bushwick was a really nice area until the mad exodus of the 60's everyone ran.Brodway was a great shopping area but then everything went downhill/ I was a minority Italian living amongstPuerto
