Previous Day :: Next Dayjeeff: i can almost taste the pennies. GGP: that yellow skull looks a little TOO happy, no?
it's like, "I'm psyched to be so deadly--AND so misspelled!" GGP: isn't it, though?
when i saw poor voo-voo, I just knew I'd seen its likeness somewhere!! GGP: the "found" sign makes me think of voo-voo is missing. GGP: go, pet bird, go!! GGP: the red post is an old fire alarm system used to contact the fire dept. in an emergency...a system now long-defunkt. ea: that would explain the recognition, having just been down there Peter: isnt that logo an image of the transamerica building in sf? i think its from a pacific shipping company. ea: that red/white spire image in the foreground of the first photo...? I feel like I see that around, but can't recall if it's a commercial logo or on some small black/white stickers. hm. or maybe it's nice that I can't tell the difference. branding, either way. elaine: and awful. as if it isn't hard enough for young asian and black men in this culture as it is elaine: so good use of spray mount is my guess fuego: especially if you look a bit foreign? (as opposed to a lot foreign?)
that's priceless.... piranha erem: oh yes! i see that. i thought it was black-on-white-on-green but now i see it is just white spray on the green with the stick-man as the stencil. talkingsupermen: I read that book a few years ago. Interesting to see the pictures.
Thanks for the post! elaine: see, i just don't know. but what i do know is i quite like the way it's a stencil in negative piranha erem: his arm is on fire? maybe from stripping a hot wire from out of the junctionbox! elaine: eek! well, that's me tumbled, then. and, like you say, pretty much everyone elaine: Peter: here in nyc, "anxiousness" is another one of the "tell-tale" signs that you might be a terrorist, ha... the cops have been instructed to search anyone who looks suspicious (despite our constitutional guarantee that decrees all americans will be free of search/seizure without just cause... so many are up in... elaine: d'you know, the thing is as well it seems that the guy was actually wearing a jeans jacket and used the ticket barrier with a travelcard, rather than jumped over it... ahem! just a bit of a total scandal piranha erem: what I really want to see is a closer photograph of the stick-man on the white paint on the right side ;-) elaine: gallows humour from suicide city... imagine working for LU or the busses just now, especially if you tend to be a bit anxious anyway! piranha erem: 'This notice is for your own safety' doesn't necessarily mean that it will make me feel (or actually be)any safer! Especially if I run (i do often run when I am in a rush travelling to get the train, who doesn't?) carry a rucksack (I do daily, who doesn't?), wear... elaine: o freud, where art thou? piranha erem: to me it looks more as a penis than a finger or a pliers! Franny Wentzel: Took piccy of this one back in 2002...
elaine: same, but i just offer this as a comparison so you can see what i mean too, but it is ambiguous surely? i look at it and i really don't know for sure now, it was the context that made me see that and the scratches and the propensity for... piranha erem: show a photo of how they shoot the bird in the uk elaine: ok, but look
piranha erem: what is the red post? piranha erem: yeah it does look like he is shooting the bird, but they shoot the bird differently in the uk so maybe a tool? piranha erem: wow what a story! SadStateOfAffairs: Those two buildings on LeMoyne are the ugliest fortresses I have ever seen. They are for sale and nobody wants to buy, I wonder why. The Blue Light is off for a few days because an 18 wheeler took it out.
To see a case study in how dependency doesn't... fuzzytank: heh i like how your link to freights went to the hat protractor,
guess we need more freights to actually make it work ;)
fuzzytank: what are you talking about?
wrench?
i see a guy flicking me off, and the perspective is a little wierd on the arm but... elaine: you take it then zoinx boston: wtf i want a better flick of the zealot.
elaine: very nice graf, even down to the detail in the wrench/stripper thing, you just know from looking at it it's one of those ratcheted tools, fantastic detail.
i know someone who works in telecoms and he was remarkably off hand about it all, and i doubt seriously i will ever... michelle: In a related but unrelated story. I tutor kids at the Chicago Park district...Horner Park to be precise. On Tuesday they unveilled a huge painting Horner. The whole history behind the projects is really interesting. i think people who saw them from passing cars had one idea of what they... Peter: fascinating... id love to know more about whats up with those boxes, why theyre always busted open, and what people are doing with/to the innards!
nice graf, though. the white eyes are a nice touch. Peter: note the lack of graf/tags/stickers on the mailbox, lamp-post or box... this is definitely the upper east side ;) Peter: wow, this is the sort of entry i really love seeing... conveying images and facts to me about somewhere id never otherwise have the chance to even know about, much less see. thanks a lot...
also: that rules that you got a photo of the now-demolishd building. Peter: damn, thats nice. you are a true artist, hool. Peter: ...and indeed, its cooler! today! 25+ degrees cooler!! Peter: thts a damn fine photograph. the ripples and refraction are tops! Peter: i love freights! dude, you can post photos like that anytime :)
the scene of the shipping containers at the top reminds me of the area i pass through on the path train to new jersey each day when i head to work. it looks almost identical... GGP: i love "homeland security" & " your name here." the last image is wonderful, too--mucho moody. GGP: witty...
& pretty! Sandy: I remember going to and from work each day and praying there wasn't an accident or stalled car inside the tunnel. kc: it sure does. He loooooves that pigeon! jeeff: haha, well... i've never witnessed it, but then again.. i wouldn't, would i? elaine: oooo hooool elaine: pretty! sparkly! no one really : none of you fucks know the reason these people bomb, every "writer" has his reasons, beliefs and style. you have to go depper than just destroying private property with a name. this is art. the police is just doing what they get pay for. elaine: cool i knew there was a reason for leaving my computer on last night! cafeconleche--just a little research to substaciate what I'm talkin' 'bout...: ....Pedro Albizu Campos protested vigorously against the US Navy’s invasion of Vieques in 1941. In a series of articles published in a newspaper, Albizu accused the Navy of carrying out a policy of genocide against the Puerto Rican people in Vieques. In 1941, there were 10,362 inhabitants in Vieques. The... cafeconleche: jeef you've got to be kidding--I went to that website you display ---Good God--women don't actuall use that!!!!!!!!! do they ????? Please , please don't censor my thoughts: I think its kinda poiniant....Peace out guys....
Oh yeah--I'm still waiting for a gangbanger's rebuttle about the staements made regarding the 'hood, the gang , and thier mission--- seeking a future I agree with you: The thing is ---there are a lot of factor that can be attibuted to not moving up---Firstly the U.S createda system of dependency when FDR intorduce Operation Bootsrap which was ppart of the NEW Deal--in order to "revitalize" the economy FDR PAID farmers not to grow crops. Here is the... joey: some citynoise gmt vibes are coming your way a day late from the west coast. woo. woo. they arrived at your computer while you were asleep. joey : sure looks like tom cruise seeking a future: My comments are gone as well.. Everyone is talking about how we should help each other well, several years ago I vowed to give back to my community, we purchased a building and rehabbed it and believe it or not did not raise the rents above $550. What happened---... seeking a future: My comments are gone as well.. Everyone is talking about how we should help each other well, several years ago I vowed to give back to my community, we purchased a building and rehabbed it and believe it or not did not raise the rents above $550. What happened---... ea: also categorizable as: towns where awesomeness resides jeeff: it almost seems like citynoise's frequent posters operate in cells. jeeff: i hear ya, our internet was out *again* till just a minute ago. we had a week-long outage last month. down with internet provider monopolies.
