aer suzuki: Catherine : I don't know. I like the sign better not knowing what it's for, although I think Chris is probably right. It's definitely not a bar though.

in response to Labor Temple

ian: Google's satellite imagery is approx. 3 years old. The freeway, until recently, went OVER Montrose. The entire freeway was trenched 20ft below grade, and now Montrose runs over it instead.

in response to Bridge Over US-59

ian: Here is an entry from the construction of this bridge. http://www.citynoise.org/article/1365/

in response to Sunrise

ksedge: the girl in the 4th picture was straddling her bongos and playing them so fast and aggressively that it actually made me cross the crowd in the street to see what was going on. the split second i took the photo she stopped from exhaustion and put her hands down...

in response to Sun & Salsa

jamie: how nice. i feel like i've seen this view before

in response to Sunrise

Mr. Jimbles: They're blasting today (07/25/2006) and it's louder than they said it would be. I'm in the WFC and it's shaking the building. Bad memories.

in response to Freedom Tower Construction Blasting

EvilGentleman: Oooo, I like it. Cirrus cloud is high and wispy, and creates beautiful effects when the sun is low or below the horizon. I see you caught it in "Armageddon on the horizon" mode. Nice.

in response to Sunrise

EvilGentleman: Nice set. The 4th picture, you captioned as "music", and I have to ask, what the heck is that person doing? I see the bongos/tam-tams, but that position is not normal. The shot of the balloons is surprisingly interesting. I guess it is due to the vivid blue of a...

in response to You\'re In Calgary When...#2

EvilGentleman: Possibly. But I remember seeing a white Cadillac convertible complete with chromed running boards and chrome and white spare tire covers (you know, for the 2 spares that sit above the running board between the doors and the front wheels) and on the front of the hood... Longhorn steer horns...

in response to You\'re In Calgary When...#2

Peter: hehehe. nice find.

in response to Laughing Mushroom

Peter: wow, those reliefs are rad!

in response to Evolution of Life

ksedge: i'm pretty sure it's the canadian blood services building on the corner of 13th ave and 7th st. SW. to be honest, i saw it and snapped the photos cause i liked it and didn't even check out where i was. unfortunately, there was a bush along the front of...

in response to Evolution of Life

okcomputer: ksedge: it's me, mcork. haha.

in response to Citadel, Flag, Moon

okcomputer: Susannah: Clayton Park, the area of western Halifax where I live and this shot was taken, is becoming more and more densely populated. Rows of town houses, large apartment buildings crammed next to each other, etc. Yet there are ponds and bogs and lakes and nature trails and wooded areas...

in response to Parkland Pond

Autumn: I had the same problem - totally disgusting! Poo bigger that human poo!(see post above).I finally put a big old sheet to cover the poo and no more poo...Make sure there is absolutly NO food source. Even from fruit trees. Good luck!

in response to Raccoons, Cute or Dangerous?

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: Yup. That's pretty happy. Gotta love blue.

in response to Oh Happy Day

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: What is the Labor temple? A Bar? A temp agency?

in response to Rudyard\'s British Pub

aer suzuki: Beer & Guns, always a great combo, god bless America. I used to live in Columbia, Missouri and there was a store there with a huge yellow sign, big black block letters spelling out the name of the joint : "Liquor, Guns, & Ammo" Not just guns but AMMO too! Whoooooooooooo-eeeeeeeee!!

in response to Rudyard\'s British Pub

aer suzuki: Gah. Forgot to bracket the links. Copy and paste time I guess, sorry.

in response to Vancouver Through a Car Window

aer suzuki: Wasn't sure what that silver thing was when I posted, but just did a quick search and found these links: http://www.vancouverplus.ca/alcan_omnimax_theatre/398855 http://www.vancouverinfocenter.com/merchant2.php/list2/250/Alcan+Omnimax+Theatre As for the wires, my guess is they're for electric busses. They had trolleys up there but like Seattle those seemed limited to the touristy area. The shot you're talkin' about...
