Previous Day :: Next DayEvilGentleman: Aw, darn. I was hoping the next post was gonna be "Broads of Broad Street" EvilGentleman: I'm honestly not 100% sure on this subject, but I know in most cases, alcohol is not permitted on streets or in parks, except for places like sidewalk cafes and the Six Flags La Ronde amusement park. I have personally seen the cops give a guy a 140 dollar ticket... Chris Erb: Somebody had told me that he was in Montreal and was talking about how much more care free the city is compared to other parts of Canada and started telling a story about a time he was in a sandwich shop and ordered a sandwich and a beer. He... Chris Erb: It's called Broad Street beause the street is quite... broad. It's actually a boulevard which is why it is generally referred to as "The Boulevard" by most locals. It is also sometimes called "Broadway" for some reason. There's even a cafe in the section that I didn't... EvilGentleman: Yes indeed, it was hard at first, but once bag-tagging was taken to hand, a good stiff competition soon developed. One great prospect after another would rise to the forefront, only to be sacked shortly afterwards. Unlike World Cup football, kicking the balls was definitely frowned upon. And hitting balls... Selig: hmm i think i spot another robot! esso greets in muffled tones, he smells of petrol. chiamattt: police exercising discretion? now i've heard everything. Selig: "So I told him I did not care about him..." gold! makes me happy :) EvilGentleman: Speaking of Freudian slips, I wonder why it's called "Broad Street" in the first place?
And "Hope Depot" is obviously the car dealership-turned-church in the last picture. Let's hear it for copyright infringement in the name of evangelism! Not! colavitos ghost: whoa, peter! weird freudian slip, there...."hope depot"? anything but!
(hahahaha! I almost typed "anything buy") EvilGentleman: I forgot to mention, bag-tagging is an important sport crucial to the development of male involuntary reflexes, and its origins can be traced all the way back to homo erectus. EvilGentleman: So far as I know, drinking in public parks is only permitted at certain events where permits are given for the sale of alcoholic beverages for that day or days, and the event organizers are then deemed to be responsible for ensuring that the public drinking does not spill over... sally: well, officer peter, you better tell them to simma down now... sally: anarchy! Chris Erb: Oh, I definitely, quality over quanity is certainly the way to go. I was looking more at a bit of a friendly competition between Montreal and Houston than a full out battle royale of sorts haha.
On the original article: How is this place NOT condemned yet? Chris Erb: I'm glad to hear that it's a decent place. It's hard to tell from Google Earth and I've been having a hard time finding anything about the area on the internet (except that the street I'm living on is home to Canada's first strip mall).
I'm hoping the place I've... Chris Erb: Is it true that you can drink in a park in Montreal so long as you're eating a meal with it?
I like that you tagged "bag sweat" alt razvan: Super tare sportul asta. imi place la nebunie. daca as putea afla si de unde sa fac rost d filmuletze, ar fi cel mai tare. daca stie cineva astept IM p mess : reaper90man Biff: There is only one Catherine. The others are Kates... EvilGentleman: That area is pretty diverse and while not entirely crime-free, it does not have a bad name by any stretch of the imagination. All in all, a pretty safe area, I would say. Vanier college is located nearby, and there is some good shopping fairly close to the metro, especially... little ukraine: wow! really great shots. me:
Peter: exactly!
jeremy: that's beautiful. Peter: i share similar feelings about my hometown. even our small family-owned hardware store closed a while back when hope depot opened up across town... elaine: nice! monster: norman oklahoma, just so you know, is the home of the flaming lips, the starlight mints, mainsite contemporary art, opolis productions and forward foods, just to name a few things. Not to forget the university of oklahoma and its many amenities; world class art museum, amazing engineering and energy departments...It... Catherine Penfold-Waxman: Me, Catherine? Or are there more?
My interest in the world cup was limited to watching the penalty kicks in the England/Portugal game. Sorry. I'm a bad brit, I know. Catherine Penfold-Waxman: any relative of the Mercy Seat? A.J.: hey no one can insult the OKC i love it,well of course i do its my home, anyway my uncle told me of parkour and i would like to get into any places for a noob like me? Chris Erb: Sussex is a neat place but I would never want to live there again. It's fun to go back but not for very long. It's much more interesting to be in the town looking at it from a new set of eyes now.
I imagine Moffet's and many of... Chris Erb: That looks like a tank! Chris Erb: Apparently my apartment is a one minute walk from that metro stop. Do you know anything about the neighbourhood around it? Peter: ive always liked airport fire trucks best... they look unstoppable (and seriously menacing):
EvilGentleman: Oh, I never even noticed those. Cool. Peter: nice find. i like the folding steps that go up the side... EvilGentleman: I think he's referring to the pic of the market, with its signs of 10 lb potatoes and 99 lb tomatoes.
I never knew there were hillbillies in the Maritimes. Mind you, back in the late 1970's, when I was a kid on the old air force base in Chatham (now... EvilGentleman: When I am unable to drive my wife to work, she changes buses at du College metro. EvilGentleman: Almost every fire truck in Montreal is red, so I was quite surprised to see this yellow one at the Urgences Sante building by the corner of Cavendish and Cote de Liesse, in the Saint-Laurent borough.
LWAMC: im the lead guitarist for RUBIDIUM, and have gigged with sodium for years and i gotta admit, if you havent caught an i love sodium show, youre missing out on the hardest hardk0re metal lincolnshire has to offer. maybe its too underground for your scene, but keep your ear to... mofidious: ok luk guys for the last time we are "MOFIDIOUS" you keep calling us "MODIFIDIOUS". And we r not any thing to do with "i love sodium" we dont even know them!!!! ......yet.... We may become mates and do shows together but right now we dont kno them and they... anon (d14-69-175-113.try.wideopenwest.com): Me, my husband and 3 kids went here last year and the kids had a blast walking through the river and climbing the fossil wall and going under the falls. My husband and I loved it too! What a great place we just happened upon. Peter: yay coney island! i had heard they were gonna light it up, but hadnt gotten around to seeing any pics yet, so thanks. wow, the second and third shots are grand. t@ngent: i like how the parachute jump glows redder and redder before EXPLODING! Peter: well, it would be easier to judge you, as a band, if we could hear your tunes. do you have any online? post a link so we can all tune in to the wonder that is modifidious/i love sodium! Peter: yeah, im glad to see winnipeg up in here! Peter: yeah, i thought it was a fancy stencil/pasteup at first. nice find. Peter: nice stencil! Peter: that garden is awesome! i wish people around here would pay as much attention to the little plots of green they have... so much potential in such little spaces, yet they always seem choked with weeds or unruly shrubs.
your neighborhood looks pretty. i, for one, wouldnt mind seeing more. Peter: nice. id like a car like gareth, but with less rust... Peter: awesome! my hometown had a main street and a broad street that ran parallel- in opposing directions- through downtown. sussex looks like a neat place. and, you gotta love places like moffet's. theyre all but disappearing nowadays... Peter: it looks like a giant dorsal fin! also: the lens-flare is cool. Peter: nice. i like that first one... 515 + mofidious: we only accept a few salt pots at the door, the specifications of the pots are as follows:
80mm tall

it is vital tht it is octagonal and must be 2/3 full of salt

EvilGentleman: Chris, I agree it is cool to see us having an effect on the charts here, but after the initial excitement wore off, I realized it is better to just post because something is too good to not post, and whatever the charts do, they do. I no longer worry... Chris Erb: It appears that a competition has oficially begun between Montreal and Houston haha. The stakes will be much higher once I've moved! EvilGentleman: No problem, Katy. Did you catch the article in today's Gazette about the new buildings being powered by geothermal wells? Pretty darn cool, if you ask me. zagg: I prefer the blood pouring out of the peace sign.
