Previous Day :: Next Dayanon (CPE0080c6e9af25-CM000a73a089b5.cpe.net.cable.rogers.com): what will it be like in the year 2006 Peter: the whole trainspotting/railfan phenomenon fascinates me... we have it here in nyc, too, but on a much smaller scale... i bet most people wouldnt even know what you were talking about.
but, categorizing all the trains is easier here- theyre all in one city, they all bear easy-to-read numbered placcards, etc...
check... Railfan: www.halcrow.com/latestnews_july05_peterboro.asp
www.queensgate-shopping.co.uk Jamie: What an interesting little story. I'm from peterborough :-) I've heard there is talk of redevelopment of the station quarter of the city. New apartments and offices etc and a new station of course with underground parking. I don't live there anymore, but hey, you remember queensgate when it was... Peter: I do that with the shuttle train where it surfaces up near the brooklyn botanic garden, and also where it crosses park place in prospect heights (like in this entry)... i love watching them go by. at the park place shuttle, the road dips under the tressle, so if you... Peter: theres plenty of pirate radio at the low end of the dial, jack, and it varies from area to area. though id imagine its probably a bit modern for your tastes, its at least good to see that some folks dont hesitate to take things into their own hands ;) guess who : This page has some killer graph- I love what wisk threw down.... jack: in brooklyn we had the sea beach line which was under ground but opened above. so you could peep through the cement blocks on the street above and watch the trains go by. it amused us kids for at least 3 minutes. jack: he's smiling because he got his raise and is back at work. is he on the sea beach express or the f train. nice photo. jack: thats the problen today. stations get taken over and people lose there music. for me there are some golden oldies for me to listen to but i remember growing up and listening to radio wnew 1130 martin block had a show called the make believe ballroom and he... Peter: jack, you should make tons of photos and put them all here. id love to see your take on the world. Peter: a prison? it has no walls... so, id say no, as it would be very easy to escape from, eh?
the fencing you see is in front of it. not a part of it. jack: peter, you awaken many memories when you mention coney and stillwell. i grew up in 50's gravesend. my family moved from bay 13th and bath to gravesend. i walked many times from boody jr. high to stillwell to go to the spumoni gardens. the projects were... Me: Is that really supposed 2 be a bus shelter? It looks like a prison or something! Rose: What is the point of these pictures? Are they supposed to reflect a certain feeling. The last one isn't funny, it's sad. cartoon network: glad to see somebody had a warm christmas Peter: just out of curiosity, i googled some images of the aforementiond trains:
the Inner City 125:
The DMU:
The Class 20:
Peter: no snow here in new york, either... we're having a milder winter (so far) in the northeast this year...
...though that could all change in feb/march. goodness knows it has before! joey: where's the snow ? joey: this photo is just before sunset on a cloudy day christmas day Peter: wow! this is an intersting story... that link is great, btw. thanks for sharing this.
bland corporate radio is why i rarely listen to the radio now. i prefer short-wave lately... sine: Jamie: BBOS Peter: TL;DR
www.encyclopediadramatica.com/index.php/TL;DR Peter: tell us what it was like, jack...? elaine: nope, and it was immediately obviously not an original photo, so by definition sliding out of the interest bracket... aaaand with the text, nope and nope Peter: jack: ever seen coney island in the snow? ive always wanted to, but never manage to get out there in a snowstorm... stillwell avenue seems like a million miles away in bad weather. but i bet it looks pretty, all covered in fresh snow with the waves lapping, oblivious to... Peter: this one looked very phallic to me... Peter: this was waaaay too long to read. all i know is that he took the photo from this entry and edited it a bit. i dont really follow this person's posts much. theyre pretty out-there.
i guess we all are, to some degree, but at least i keep my stuff concice... Peter: of course you would, jack... you dirty old man! ;) Peter: i love it! somehow missed this entry the first time.
lets see more staten island please!! jack: looks like the corner store in the movie, 'summer of 42' jack: i was not far from berlin in 1962 when that happened. jack: i will arise and go now, for always night and day
i hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore;
while i stand on the roadway, or on the pavements grey,
i hear it in the deep heart's core. jack: life in toronto, looks nice and slow. jack: very nice. is it am or pm? i like to think pm after a long day at the office, kick off my shoes and walk in the sand. or better afternoon, after a rain storm, see her walk along the beach as she comes across a man, her... Jamie: no jack, it's just plain shite jack: what is this? is the word,'howdy', a german word? GGP: a picture of the mind as it drifts off to sleep. jack: no joke, its plagerizing. or is taking someones photo and redoing it in a new style creative. jack: now this has been viewed 70 times and i dont understand what its about. no one wants to comment jack: this has been viewed 95 times now but did anyone read this stuff. i like the comics, especially prince valient. and i have a 142 iq yet i still like easy reading. jack: leaves on the tree, how nice. jack: i spotted the girl in the thong first. jack: are those post cards? jack: i wish i were a brunette. i used to be a brunette. i want to be a brunette. thats hair im talking about. jack: its animalbusters. jack: i think that he would have done the same thing on any other day of the year. he's a hobo, a lush, a drunk. he's sad. no life. he could be anyone of us. Peter: ...but, of course, with the nyc-centric addition of the guardian angels.
www.guardianangels.org/ Peter: sounds like "escape from east berlin"! www.imdb.com/title/tt0055962/ jack: i thought it was called a picture show. Peter: apparently, its now a ticketable offense to pass between cars. thanks for sucking even more, MTA! Peter: i found a dollar in the street the other day in brooklyn. once, when i lived in harlem, i found a little bag full of several grams of cocaine. jack: strange things happen to a person when they walk down those steps into the subway. the mind begins to think of strange things. your thoughts become more sexual. when you go up in the el your thoughts become more loftier, higher and brighter and happier. its... jamie: jack, you say the wierdest shit evar Catherine Penfold-Waxman: Surely not the Atlantic? Maybe the Black sea?
This is so atmospheric. jamie: wow, i never check the goo anymore... i'm a start checking the goo more often jack: the cars look so clean. if jeef masturbates he should do so outside in between the cars so he wont dirty the seats. what trains do you ride jeef? let us know so we can take another one. jack: you know if someone jumped from the observation deck we would not see the fall until the 20th floor. by that time splat and no time to get out of the way. i think they should have giant fans blowing upward so we could see a jumper. ... jack: i think i saw someone try to escape from that shelter. they were caught digging under the fence and got their shirt barbed in the wire. they were shot on site by the rent-a-cop on patrol and now the guardian angels are patrolling the other side of the... jack: who soiled all those garments? that is the question! jack: wow that was great, but have you seen 17th avenue in brooklyn, the non-neon lights. how about court street's dazzeling display of red, yellow and green stop lights on almost every street! now compare 11th avenue and 14th streets illuminating window treatments on almost every floor going not... Peter: yeah, that one got me too! elaine: the goo is fab, i alwways have loved plans as my dad was an engineer and worked in a drawing office.
