Previous Day :: Next DayFranny Wentzel: Was pretty close to that spot way back in May of '02
Looks like the infill building behind the Woolworth is a another building site now.
TCL: One man's glitch is another man's impossible photo. How's you manage this? Laksay: Einstein is turning over in his grave! ^_^ Laksay: I agree. Whomever is in charge of this cemetery must know about the condition, and them not doing anything about it is nothing short of an abomination! Kavod Ha'met: Kavod Ha'met- respect for the dead- is tradition.
What has been allowed to happen to our sacred site here is intolerable. This isn't even just overgrown or slightly forgotten like most old cemeteries. This place is RANSACKED and has been ABOMINATED. Why has this been allowed to happen? Are you... Craig: Thanks for bringing attention to the conditions at Bayside. I have many family members buried there (the grave of one--Helen Schwalb--is shown in two of your pictures above), and although I live out of the area, I try to visit the cemetery when in town and clean up small portions... zagg: Funtastic post; would enjoy more like this :) repine: Yeah, course, I understand. It's just ideas, an 'honest proposal' not meant to be considered seriously. Our magazine is about putting down our ideas whether they're right, wrong, stupid or factual, anything goes. Free speech, just like graff. jack: really a great post, i love this stuff. Peter: good for him! yeah, what a dedicated guy. i can only imagine trying to petition nyc to get permission to take the general public into a cavernous subterranean abandoned tunnel, heh...

Nobody: maybe its a difference between london and nyc, but i say subculture. i can spot a writer from two blocks away, hahaha. and in terms of crew and passion, many writers do have a very large shared history in common...
as for name-changes... once someone has put years into developing... adam: The city has screwed this guy more than once. Fortunately theres a new batch of politicians that gave him the green light to do tours again and a 10 year lease.
I missed that graffiti but there were definitely some jokes made about cave paintings. :) Peter: im glad to see this place made so accessible to people... the lights and stairs/walkways are good additions. did you see the 110+ year old "remember the maine!" graffiti in there? chillen...: scrap yard is ok for when you need a quick marker or something, but just get on NJ transit and go 10 minutes over to jersey to a wal-mart or sherman williams or somewhere and steal you're stuff. paint thinner and rustoleum all day... alan locke: Why does this walgreens spelled with no "s"? chiamattt: awesome post. now i want to see lost ghost trains. Doc S.......: .....for a real bit of old Brooklyn nostalgia, go to:
www.youtube.com/watch?V=OGmxm_xboqk IggOgg: Get down with your bad self, cartlegger! I want a pic of the exit! Tony: what the hell is wrong with you people this is amsterdam for god sake, guys piss in the woods all the, these guys are drunk most of the time and its probly better than pissing all over the street...and somehow I doubt that a guy getting drunk in amsterdam, is...
