Previous Day :: Next Dayjeeff: they've got a nice aesthetic, but they're a bitch when you're on a bicycle. i wiped out because of one.
ps. look closely at the 2nd last photo jeeff: can con = canadian content, btw. it's a term used to describe a set of laws requiring a certain % of media content to be canadian-made. i'd say outdoor pick-up hockey is about as can con as it gets. GGP: amazing first shot!! so...lonely...in a friendly way... daniel deng: scary Peter: theres one here that looks just like this one, jeeff, but its bright orange inside... and very dirty. ill try to get some photos... maybe this will turn into the laundromat thread, hahaha. Peter: cant get enough of those trolley tracks... also: i love the window reflection in the first one. reminds me of this entry of yours... Peter: awesome! i loe action shots. that first one is cool, too. darkness and light. thanks jeeff! elaine: and cold elaine: maybe the roofs are sloping but they have cloaking devices? elaine: hahahahaha! elaine: nice work
we call them 'laundrettes'
here, too, they are bleak elaine: bleak. like scotland.
also, probably, brrr Catherine Penfold-Waxman: it's still weird for me to see houses without sloping roofs. They look unfinished, or like childrens building blocks. kc: remarkably serene, as the city can sometimes be... Peter: big, empty blue winter sky. kc: lovely... Catherine Penfold-Waxman: I was at my companys holiday party (in january, I know). I had to dance to 'Dancing Queen" but drew the line at 'It's Raining Men.' Back in the day, I would have taken full advantage of the open bar then attempted to take advantage of some inappropriate man. My... jack: the washing machine in the right of the photo closest to the window we will call harry. the washing machine to harry's right we will call bert. (original, eh).
hey bert, why are we on this side of the room, all alone.
they dont like... jack: barry you make me realize that i have been out of the city too long. i did'nt recognize barclay street. shame on me. i'm comming back. i owe you, catherine and peter. jack: who is the guy between the legs of the nude. i know the nude but not the guy. jack: i once had a party at chealsea piers. they have an ice rink indoors and tables on the veranda with an open bar and a big bbq. it was a special occasion, all my childerens friends came and had a grand old time. jack: the east forties, a nice area. jack: all my old girlfriends hang out at that bar. jack: jesus saves at the dime. jack: the lips are the thing. jack: scotland is beautiful jack: great photos jack: nic did you write this? jack: shades of sam houston. jack: i walked on thin walls with ice and fell off a few times but i got back up there. jack: everything looked normal in the quiet countryside town. except for the fact that no one was around it seemed pretty quaint. we looked for a diner, needed coffee badly, so we saw one at the end of main street and headed right for it. upon entering you... jack: i think its a great idea to take a bath along the highway. i'd like also to have the collision business 50feet away. Peter: awesome, barry! ive been loving all the nyc photos lately, for sure.
and yes, mmm newcastle brown. jeeff: (probably because it is one) jeeff: that sculpture in the 2nd photo looks very much like a botero Fernando_Botero jack: i happened to see a special on hbo this morning on the ladies that danced on the bowery in manhattan. they're all older now but i remember seeing then in the 40's and 50's in girlie mags that the men used to hide from their wives. these were... Catherine Penfold-Waxman: Newcastle Brown (do they still make it?) Jamie 2008: yeah, that sucks Peter: yeah... spamming. like back when you posted the same comment on here like 50 times in many different entries (and i had to fix it) and when you did the same on the www.dailyheights.com forum, effectively getting blackballed from that site. Jamie: could you build me a beer tower? Catherine Penfold-Waxman: I hope that Frank Miller reads this. I see another Sin City graphic novel coming on. Catherine Penfold-Waxman: Hey Barry, how are you making a wine tower? Can I come and help you drink it? I like red or white. Or even Retsina. Catherine Penfold-Waxman: This is a great sampling of having a wander in the streets of New York. Sometimes I forget to look up and appreciate just how beautiful the buildings are. ELLIS G.2009: sane 156 rest in peace elaine: you can see puffins on that beach elaine: loverly selection, sofft and fluffy.mmm
i love buddha, by the way, he's my real boyfriend Jamie: Hah, awesome photos barry. That's Carrowshee Park is it not? ELLIS G. 2007: spamming? come off it. don't get it twisted. freebo the clown: i have lived in bushwick for about five years now. my boyfriend and i moved here in 2001 from williamsburg to find a bigger, cheaper space. we started out on jefferson street btw. irving and knickerbocker, which was pretty intense. nothing bad ever happened, but that street... adam: sad to see that the ghostbusters lost their permit and the fdny got their building back. jethro: looks like youcould jump from one to the other jethro: last photo - now thats what i call a building Nikita: He was 20 when he died. I go to hunter right now and there are teachers who knew him pretty well. The year books are in the library I'm gonna check that out. Its pretty cool knowing he went to the same school as me. I randomly see his tags... oldcrab: surprising septa never scrapped that copper catenary wire. still quite a few bucks hanging up there. Catherine Penfold-Waxman: I wandered lonely as a cloud, etc. Great a group of pictures. I love the themes that you can find in a relatively small area.
Vidal B UK Manchester: I watched a documentary on the bushwick projects/ghetto about 8 years ago and it looked and was very very ghetto. Fiends overdosing and getting clapped up and 9 year old cats blazing dro, Sick!
