Peter: i knew it! :D julie: yup, the good ol' days back when i lived on the 20th floor and had the best views ever Debbie Feb. 17, 2006: I enjoy looking at wed sites about Coney Island. I've found interesting photos on a site called "Unforgotten New York". Check it out. elaine: could be. it's a tough call. Laura : My boyfriend loves that toy store. Laura : Ahhhh. The heights... Peter: nice! i used to live right up there near morningside park :) small world. that second photo looks like it was taken from columbia university's "east campus" tower, or perhaps one of hte tall apartment buildings on morningside drive. Peter: those are actually from cental park, looking south towards the southwest entrance of the park at columbus circle. i can tell because i see the dual glass-towers of the time warner center building there, rather clearly through the trees. also: the diamond-gridded facade of the random hosue building to its... GGP: or iron nose-piercings? julie: they look like they're huddled around talking to each other... maybe they're talking about the snooty buildings behind them. elaine: i like to think they are tiny innefectual arms coming out of nostrils...;-D Catherine Penfold-Waxman: I like to think of the door handles as nostrils. Orderly arrangement of parts;... julie: i think there's cactus growing inside the mesquite tree. mmm... chicken wings julie: slipped and fell on 7th st too. jeeff: so mesquite is a type of cactus? what does that have to do with the flavour mesquite? i ate some mesquite chicken wings this week and i wasn't thinking, "mmm, cactus..." jeeff: the last pics are like african igloos. have you ever been inside one?
i also think it's interesting that you captured a great big billboard in the background of pic #2. colavito\'s ghost: Are all buildings architecture? I'm not saying they're not, but many of us probably ascribe to the dominant Western idea that architecture is a label only to be ascribed to something "higher" than tiny, makeshift, slanted huts built in the African countryside.

SANE was in a few art shows at ABC during the 1980s. The piece is an american flag
with the caption "Baseball, Apple Pie and Racism". Over the years... danielle: Oh...I forgot to add, that just to the right...(where I was taking the pic) is a big tunnel in the middle of this mountain, where cars drive thru to the other side.
