Previous Day :: Next DayRob Tynan: Hi Marissa,
Which one are you?
Rob Marissa Chaplin: Some more pics from the Advertiser
2nd Irlam Brownies (I am on this!!!!!)
4th Irlam Brownies
2 fundraising events in St. Pauls Schoolroom
I am on this last one aswell, hence why my mum kept this part of the paper.
Rob Tynan: I type too quick!! regarding the photo of School Farm, its the building on the right, not the left which was the School Masters house. This was attached to the end of the Endowed School. The building with the central chimney is the farmhouse. jack: i know, its really good.
Rob Tynan: Anyone who used to work at Royles recognise these pics. I took them just before the bulldozers moved in in 1983.
This one is looking down the workshop from the office doors
This one is looking up the workshop towards the offices
Rob
Leon: I remember Town Hill but it was called the Bedford Rest before that. I had my first date with my wife there 48 years ago. I grew up in in the 30's and 40's in Crown Heights (Kingston and Lefferts) which wasn't that far from Eastern Parkway the 30's. ... Rob Tynan: This is the only picture to exist of the farm run by my great grandfather John Tynan from approx the 1880s. It was called School Farm and was on the corner of Springfield Lane, Vicarage Road. The building on the left was the school masters house which was... Rob Tynan: Hi Alan,
You can drive down Victory Road, but only as far as Haig Ave.
Alison, Ive been poking around some more and found a better pic of Hurst Fold.
Marissa Chaplin: they certainly are Joanne
ps; I am still on the Minor trail ;-) Joanne Amorello-minor: Is the library and the post office still at the end of fiddlers lane? Alan Taylor: Hi Norma,
Doubt it very much Norma, the shuttlecock roundabout is practically at the Liverpool Road end Victory Road ;-)
Been averaging 2 emails a day from your mam but none today so far.
Hi Rob,
My last visit to the area the shuttlecock circle had just been opened and I think you could... Rob Tynan: Sorry Norma, by photo I mean the image on Google Earth, not the photo of the shuttlecock
Rob Andrew Smith: Cheers for the pictures of Hurst Fold Rob - I remember at school they said they used to have a maypole on the green there, and a fiddle player, hence Fiddlers Lane. I also remember seeing a picture of a turnpike outside the Nags Head. Rob Tynan: Hi Norma,
The "shuttlecock" was erected about three or four months ago I think. The roundabout is just at the bottom of Victory Road. Have a look on Google Earth. The photo was taken approx 1 year ago, and shows the road under construction.
If you do go... Norma Bannon (nee Bolton): Hi Rob,
When was the shuttlecock erected? It's the first I've heard or seen of it. At least I have a landmark to look for, when I come 'home' on my next visit. Cadishead has changed so much, I will have trouble finding my way back to Mums!!... Norma Bannon (nee Bolton): Hi Joanne,
I too, enjoy reading your posts. I realise the point Alan was trying to make. He certainly wasn't trying to put you off, just protect you from some private information being disclosed on here, thus adding more to your upset and hurt over the whole situation. ... Alan Taylor: Hi Joanne,
It was my email address -> fam.trace@googlemail.com Joanne Amorello-minor: HI alison was your grandmother mrs Pearson? it suddenly came back to me!I do have these little electrical impulses now and again!Thankyou Rob for your kind words..and Alan i've tried to get to you via the googlemail site but it keeps directing me to a page and I cannot find... Alan Taylor: Hi Joanne,
I only meant the mundane stuff, by all means information on your dad should be posted, you never know who ends up reading the information. Also post information found on any possible relatives, one of them or someone who knows of them could jump-in and give vital information.
It is... Rob Tynan: For all those who have not seen the "upturned shuttlecock" on the new roundabout, entering Cadishead from Hollins Green, Here it is!
Rob Rob Tynan: Alison
Back in December you said you couldnt find any pics of the cottages at hurst fold. I have found these. They are a bit grainy Im afraid.
I think the three chimneys in the centre of the pic belong to the cottages
The right hand side of this pic... anna nit: those chicks are adorable. Rob Tynan: Joanne,
Your story certainly isnt boring!! Please keep posting. Would love to know the outcome. I just wish I could help. With the info you have found so far since your first posting just proves the power of the internet. Anything you think of, post it. It could... like: e foarte tare omule , dar comentariile sunt de prisos tot degeaba daca nu ai talent
Peter: another hool banger. check the light/shadows in 1 & 3. nice. Peter: its been a while, so alas, i bring you another tumbleweave courtesty of newark, mj:

Alison: Hi Joanne
Did you say you lived at 67 The Crescent, my grandma lived at 65 she passed away last november but had lived there for 60 years if not more. Alan Taylor: Joanne,
My previous was posted without seeing your picture, Sue's face seems familiar more so than Roy's and the name Garratt is not unfamiliar although I cannot say for certain if it was from Irlam [Lancs] or Scunthorpe [Lincs], certainly not from my time in Devon/Ceredigion/Nottinghamshire.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Alan... Alan Taylor: Joanne,
Don't want to bore the others on this board with family history, albeit it does roughly fit the title of the board, although the intention was for pictures & memories of things now gone, but this stuff is now more personal to yourself and there are things which need... Joanne Amorello-minor: Hi Cyril,
Wow a small world we live in,I remember walking into it...You may remember my mum whan we lived there we lived at number 67 her name was sue...I know you came across many people but I remember my mum talking to you quite often if it was you that... Geethu: I never thought tokyo is something like this. Not very diffrent from a fully urbanized european city. Can't beleve anybody can live without visinity of lush green and rain drops. Cyril Bagshaw: Hello Joanne,
Believe it or not, I drove the blue van that you so rightly recall, it was a walk-in travelling greengrocery that serviced the Margarine Works estate as it was called, and the Harewood road estate from 1948 to 1960. Rugsta: One more... because she is kinda special.. ;)
Rugsta: Hey there, I found some more along the same lines in my archives.
