Previous Day :: Next Day

thuglife: i live right next to EO, shit is hard as hell there. trust me. theres always shootings and shit like that. gangs be whilen there. no joke....dont sleep on jersey

in response to The Projects of East Orange

elaine: so fresh

in response to Abandoned House

Myke: Ugh, that elevator sounds worse than the ones they have at the Covent Garden tube station in London. The first time I went in there I took the stairs having not noticed the sign saying how far it was to walk down (and potentially dangerous).

in response to 168th Street

Myke: Thanks Peter. It's a nice mix up of old and new. Manchester has many examples of facadism, which I will hopefully find and photograph. Glasgow has similar building projects going on as well. Many of the entirely new apartments that are built here seem to adhere to one style of architecture,...

in response to Manchester (June 2005)

GGP: how the hell do they get people out of there in a blackout?

in response to 168th Street

buzz: Ever heard of N.S.V

in response to graffiti stencil making a statement...

jeeff: thanks, good tip.

in response to Worst Graffiti Evar

violet913: I have no idea what goes on there but it is sprayed several times around that area.

in response to Phoenix Does Exist

Peter: i really wish i had some photos of it when it was packed during the morning rush. an elevator the size of a van filled with 100 people... in teh summertime, it got up to like 120 in there, hahaha.

in response to 168th Street

GGP: i came uncomfortably close to an anxiety attack waiting for that damn elevator to come.

in response to 168th Street

Peter: wow... theres some amazingly modern architecture admidst the old-world stuff. i particularly love that second photo. im imaginging living in an old fish market. cool. good case of urban renewal.

in response to Manchester (June 2005)

Peter: also: the weird thing is that there's still a homeless shelter in the ground level/basement of the armory. it was odd to come out of work when they were having a big track/field meet and see the homeless guys tweaking out or panhandling the crowds of college coeds jogging up...

in response to 168th Street

Peter: awesome! i used to work at columbia presbyterian! i got off at the 1/9 station at 168th every day :) manm, waiting for the crowds to file outta those huge elevators was a truly weird experience.

in response to 168th Street

Myke: Thanks again folks. Setting up that last one really hurt my eyes. I was stitting around quite a while, waiting for the thickest of the fog to clear. I was fortunate that I didn't need to be in university that morning.

in response to Morning Fog (07/12/05)

Myke: I'm totally with you on the lamps. That subway station is really interesting!

in response to 168th Street

GGP: not bad for half-asleep!! :) that last one is a knock-out.

in response to Morning Fog (07/12/05)

GGP: sad.

in response to The Projects of East Orange

Myke: I kneel before my four-eyed robot overlord.

in response to robot building

Peter: myke: get in on it- post a (robot face} :)

in response to robot building

Myke: Agreed, that is rather awesome. This whole article has been fun to look at.

in response to robot building

Peter: runny nose robot truck = #1!

in response to robot building

GGP: really nice.

in response to Abandoned House

GGP: robot truck spotted on NY Thruway 2 weeks back. seems to have a bit of a runny nose; flu season's upon us.

in response to robot building

Peter: scary? no... i was just walking through there briefly, and didnt really pass many people. it was so cold... and so quiet. more depressing than scary, for sure.

in response to The Projects of East Orange

Peter: cool :) show us more from !

in response to Abandoned House

sopla: this is bulbs.u right Peter=)

in response to Abandoned House

Carmack: This cracked me up!

in response to Worst Graffiti Evar

Carmack: What a depressing place to live. Is it scary there?

in response to The Projects of East Orange

Carmack: It looks to me like one too many cars has miscalculated that curve and hit the barrier!

in response to Curve

Carmack: Those -train cars are the type they use to haul new automobiles in. I always wonder, when I see those types of cars covered with , if any of it blew through the scores of holes on the sides and got onto the new autos.

in response to Toledo Graf Freights

sopla: =)

in response to Abandoned House

Carmack: "Intimate Contact"? Do I want to know what goes on there?

in response to Phoenix Does Exist

Carmack: I like the next-to-last phoho, the one of the big cat painted on the corner!

in response to Abandoned House

Peter: that one character reminds me of a light bulb...

in response to Abandoned House

Myke: That's a good find! Some really interesting graffiti on that building.

in response to Abandoned House

Peter: hahaha. funny youd mention it, jeeff... thats the first thing i thought when i saw this post. but hey, maybe we'll get lucky on this one. maybe.

in response to Toledo Graf Freights

jeeff: nice. ps. do i see another endless thread about to begin?

in response to Toledo Graf Freights

violet913: There seem to be a lot of paste ups around Roosevelt, there is an art walk over there once a month and checking out all of the new graffiti is one of the best parts. :P My favorite is the head with scissors.

in response to Phoenix Does Exist

sopla: wow!!!!!we love freigths!!!!!!

in response to Toledo Graf Freights

Peter: cool ! i love the "1022" one, also, for some reason.

in response to Phoenix Does Exist

Peter: sick!!

in response to Toledo Graf Freights

Peter: hahahaha go for it! just be sure to turn the sound off if you have a shutter-sound on your device... people tend to get freaked out at shutter sounds in the bathroom ;)

in response to Worst Graffiti Evar

jeeff: good morning.

in response to Morning Fog (07/12/05)

jeeff: dude, you have inspired me to snap some bathroom graffiti next time i visit the local dive bar. it is so great.

in response to Worst Graffiti Evar

jeeff: i think they paint the bricks to disguise the fact that all the buildings are crumbling.

in response to Dec 07 2005 Toronto

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: His very reason for being has been denied him. I'm sad too.

in response to robot building

elaine: no wonder he is unhappy then, where are his friends?

in response to robot building

Peter: the weird part is that there was neither a fire... nor an actual fire extinguisher. just this robot-face sticker on the wall.

in response to robot building

alendres: You can rearrange it to... oh, no, never mind. Is that supposed to be the old 'If you have noticed this notice, you may have noticed that this notice isn't worth noticing'?

in response to Worst Graffiti Evar

Codeman38: Almost sounds like programming code. if (readThis) your.noting();

in response to Worst Graffiti Evar

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 'cos you should be sad during a fire. All your shit is burning.

in response to robot building

jamie: subtle. nice.

in response to robot building

elaine: the one i am thinking of is in forest gate and i go there mondays

in response to Worst Graffiti Evar

Peter: an even older :

in response to Volvos and Vespas

Peter: frowny fire extinguisher :

in response to robot building

Peter: elaine: get to snapping! jamie: here, it was always a post-it note reading "kick me!" stuck to your back, secretly affixed via a seemingly friendly back-slap...

in response to Worst Graffiti Evar

elaine: by the way it most certainly was drab. very drab

in response to Morning Fog (07/12/05)

elaine: blimey! these are fantastic

in response to Morning Fog (07/12/05)

jamie: heh, reminds me of being a kid. we used to think it was the height of cool to write on a scrap of paper "if you read this you are gay" and hand it to someone. or hide it in their excercise book. of stick it to their back.

in response to Worst Graffiti Evar

elaine: super - i know where there is some pants graffiti, i keep meaning to snag it i promise to try harder

in response to Worst Graffiti Evar

NHC: I like that it's hot

in response to WK, DOZE on Ludlow Street:

Peter: awesome, hool.

in response to Dec 07 2005 Toronto

hool: thanks everyone. i first met the man in the last picture three years ago. he is always out in the streets panhandling. he's very cheerful. the first time i met him i asked him to pose for a project i was doing. i had...

in response to Dec 07 2005 Toronto

jamie: a note found the other day

in response to A Found Note

Mad Jane: I love these, especially the third. Thanks for sharing.

in response to Morning Fog (07/12/05)

Peter: thats awesome. i always pictured it to be a rather drab, industrial city... not that ive ever been there or seen much of it... but whatever my presuppositions were, youve very much set that straight with some of your recent photos...

in response to Morning Fog (07/12/05)

jamie: they really go for that painted brick look in don't they

in response to Dec 07 2005 Toronto

jamie: heh peter, i was just gonna say the exact same things about the incedental s and the robot face roof. Great photos Myke and it's good to see representing.

in response to Manchester (May 2005)

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: Hool according to Cat: 1. The figure in black mirroring the pose of the person in the foreground explores the concept of other paths not taken. 2. The shadow person menacing the lady translates into the onset of infirmity and old age. 3. The cigarette man simply burns for a light. I hope...

in response to Dec 07 2005 Toronto

Myke: Thank you Peter for the comments and the links also. I've a lot more photographs of Manchester which I will slowly add over time.

in response to Manchester (May 2005)

Myke: Thank you very much both of you. There's always something new being built in Manchester, it's going through a sort of city centre living craze at the moment.

in response to Morning Fog (07/12/05)

Peter: big it up ! ive loved seeing all the recent manchester content as of late... i really hope y'all keep it up, as im particularly taken with this city. i love the artifacts in the third photo, and how the roof looks almost like a sort of robot face. also...

in response to Manchester (May 2005)

Peter: wow... for real. wow. that last one is great. , , , . a perfect urban moment.

in response to Morning Fog (07/12/05)

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: My retina hurt. That last one is intense. Brilliant, in every sense of the word.

in response to Morning Fog (07/12/05)

Carmack: He looks like he is begging for a light for his smoke. Perhaps taking in the radiant sunlight. Perhaps being a crazy street person. Perhaps all three. Or none. Tell us, Hool. Indulge us in a brief backstory about this person, if you have any. I realize some some of...

in response to Dec 07 2005 Toronto

jamie: is it joy? is it despair? does it matter?

in response to Dec 07 2005 Toronto

Peter: that last one- damn... .

in response to Dec 07 2005 Toronto

jamie: bit like this guy no?

in response to Guy Rolling a Blunt on the PATH Train

jamie: did she like it?

in response to Desk Art

Peter: is a pretty chi-chi place, yeah?

in response to Desk Art

Peter: im pretty discrete with the . also: i gotta second that when its in public, its everyone's business...

in response to Guy Rolling a Blunt on the PATH Train

elaine: singing the smiths helps you not die - it is totemic

in response to Manchester Dec 2005 - Part 2

elaine: le singe, il est dans l'arbre, naturellement. je pence peut etre c'est un arbre dans le jardin du max factor (do you remember those ads? i think the idea was you were supposed to believe the products were in some way natural because max factor had a garden, and that...

in response to intriguing paint splatters

jamie: if and when i go to wales, i'm going in the summertime. also: i always thought the main aim of driving on the m62 was to not die. the music is secondary.

in response to Manchester Dec 2005 - Part 2

jamie: mais, oś est la singe?

in response to intriguing paint splatters

adam: yea im sure he didnt give a shit.. plus its a camera phone.. he probably didnt do it obviously

in response to Guy Rolling a Blunt on the PATH Train

elaine: gaad, horncastle really knows how to rock and roll. i never went at christmas, but i was told dundee is good, cos they get hand-me-down lights from edinburgh and/or glasgow and they just keep adding. maybe that was a huge whopper, but i would like to keep it going if only...

in response to Pre-Christmas Lights

elaine: peut etre c'est le yves kleinimages.google.co.uk/images?q=yve . . . &hl=en&btnG=Search+Images du milieu des pigeons?

in response to intriguing paint splatters

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: it is everyone's fuckin business when it's in a public place. The well-prepared toker rolls 'em discreetly.

in response to Guy Rolling a Blunt on the PATH Train

-MaGiC-: can't believe you got away with that, he must have already been high, i would have been pissed if i caught u taking a pic of that. (mind your own fuckin business)
