Previous Day :: Next DayErin: Earlier last year someone mentioned that nothing like this cathedral would be allowed in the US. There is a gentilman just outside Castelrock, CO who is building a castle with a working drawbridge, moat, and a dragon that breathes fire. There is also a museum in CA where the man... John: This is a good example to us all that we can make our dreams a reality, not just dream about them all our lives. That having been said though, Justo is missing the fact that our heavenly Father does not call us to devote our lives to making buildings that... Anthony Joseph: His effort is relentless, his vision is elegant, perhaps the self-important politicians, bureaucrats and clergy who disparage him for his sincerity will one day come to another point of view. I hope that his cathedral will one day stand completed, loved, and used. jeeff: yep, homeland security's making you real safe (if you consider it safe to have your identity stolen).
news.com.com/Feds+Homeland+Secur . . . 6145796.html?tag=nefd.top Pete Cesarini: A few thoughts:
1. Reminds me of another famous Spanish Don - Don Quijote. Who is Don Justo's Sancho Panza?
2. Another Quixotic monument (sculpture) still stands tall in Los Angeles, The Watts Towers. Very similar stories - in the end after builder Simon Rodia's death (another famous Spaniard!) Los Angeles... Victoria Cobb: Only a man inspired of God could create such a magnificient operation. My prayers are for its continuity.
Hephzibah, GA USA Joseph Carvajal, Brevard, North Carolina, USA: It is absolutely fantastic that this one man, working alone, could have built this great edifice over a period of time. Now that he is 81 years old and slowing down a little, others should now act to preserve his creation for posterity. It does not have to... Mike m - Apopka, Fl: What he has done is amazing But can you imagine the people he could of helped with the spirit and determination he has? A church or cathedral being built for God starts in the Hearts and minds of people not a brick and morter building. He should of started with... carlos hines: hi, i really like these photos that yall got on yall pics. Joe Leikhim Oviedo Florida: Beautiful building. I hope that he succeeds in building it and that it outlasts his detractors and their offspring. One only has to look at the claptrap being built in the US to appreciate his efforts. c.: How is the area?
Atlantic Avenue 11233 area code
I am a white female petite and cute.
Am I going to be killed if I go there alone? Oscar Grouch: Looking at this monstrosity through an Engineers eye, I was quick to note the sub-par concrete pours and immature choices of building materials in critical locations. Apparently he allows the public onto the property, yet hasn't the sense to ensure their safety by way of outside design concurrence and... Oscar the grouch: "Affliction",is right. I'm glad he's not my neighbor."I have no previous building experience",what a nut. If he'd built it out in the country side I'd have less of a problem with this. Have a yucky day. Morgan: Amazing story. My dad and I were driving in Colorada about 10 years ago about 100 miles south of Colorado Springs and we came upon Bishops Castle. There was a man doing a similar project by himself though not quite as large. Do a search for Bishops... Brad: That place looks so rad! Too bad I don't skate anymore. anon (localhost): I hope he finishes his master piece & it lasts for generations. 1521 : Bottom line is rich or poor JA XTC has got mad ups and can be considered a NYC king along with JIS MC, FIB, JOZ, EASY and COPE2 end of story JA XTC 2006 till ??? Solomon: I am impressed that he can build so much without construction expirience. Then again I watch untrained framers build structures everyday. He needs to learn how to finish one thing before going on to the next. Tara: thats so awesome. What an amazing work of art and a very talented man. Amazing. Nasra: Justo is an inspiration to all! To have the faith, and perseverance to keep on going for 40 years despite all the negative talk from the people of his town, is just amazing. May God bless you Justo! Peter Dykes: In this grim Orwellian world of ours where everything is controlled by a corrupt totalitarian state (read: vicious characters that have weasled and conned their way into power by hook and by crook) and regulation of everything we do abides,it is very refreshing to see that an utterly exceptional individual... tom (suthincomfort@yahoo.com): if i had the money to travel i'd want to take my wife & i to the cathedral to have a prayer. such things are made by faith. he truely is a man of vision.
