Previous Day :: Next Day

jack: see the lady in the window with her apron on, thats the way it was. women ran the families and waited for their husbands to come home to sit at his favorite chair and talk to his children. aw, shucks.

in response to 145 Newark Ave, Jersey City

Kato: I hope you are wearing comfortable shoes for your long walk and can I have your camera. Mulah sends hugs.

in response to The Roosevelt Island Tramway

jeeff: i agree, really sad. this is what mass consumption and throw-away culture give us.

in response to 145 Newark Ave, Jersey City

hool: ian: i haven't been shooting with the e-10 for a long time. i got a canon 10d, used it for a year and a half, then recently got a canon 5d. the 5d is full frame, so my wide angle lenses are truly wide angle. i don't...

in response to Dec 21 2005 Toronto

elaine: it's a good question, but certainly east end funerals are designed to be looked at. they are not the usual pace of things and the flowers are mental. i only wish i had pictures from the horse drawn one i saw once, it was literally awesome. black plumes on the...

carol: already did

in response to Moscow

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: Purty. I love typography, so I'm really happy to see these signs. Black and white is a nice choice for this set. The "we cater" sign on the 'resturant' truck is very funny.

in response to Eating on Almeda

ian: There was a tramway at our local amusement park -- but the park shut down in October. The last time I went, the tram wasn't operational. What a pity, I would have loved to grab a last few photos from it.

in response to The Roosevelt Island Tramway

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: Thanks. I take that as huge compliment, Mr. fabulous photographer! If you go to Disney world, you can get attacked by King Kong whilst you're in the tram.

in response to The Roosevelt Island Tramway

ian: I wonder if hool is still shooting with the Oly E10. Do you use a wide-angle lens set at the hyperfocal distance?

in response to Dec 21 2005 Toronto

ian: Catherine, the second photo is achingly beautiful.

in response to The Roosevelt Island Tramway

anon (sotn-cache-1.server.ntli.net): "churlish not to" ? How about respectful not to? How would you feel if you were in the back of one of them cars, and some unknown person started taking photos?

in response to east end funeral

jeeff: hool's camera is big so if necessary he can just club people over the head with it and get away.

in response to Dec 21 2005 Toronto

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: In the placement of these photos, the fish is my favorite. He just jumps at you from nowhere. The street festival shots are very pagan. Was it for the winter equinox?

another writer: Rumors are that Dose got picked up but i believe its just that.Im a writer and ive noticed that there is less graff now then ever.I still see some Nice BUK 50's in broward/west palm Dose and Ynot got buffed but not all. There's nice Siner pieces in miami and...

in response to Miami Youth Faces \'Serious Jail Time\':

hool: thanks selig. i rarely ask. i'm not interested in people's reactions to being photographed. sometimes its suitable to ask, so i do, and it doesn't take that much courage because i'm really used to it. it's harder to shoot without permission. i try to be...

in response to Dec 21 2005 Toronto

jack: full moon over the city. lights of green and red add to the Christmas spirit.

in response to Chrysler Building

jack: okay here are the facts: 1=the strike started jan. 1, 1965. mayor john lindsay was arrogant and wanted to break the powerful union boss then. but both were arrogant and wanted to be the boss so the people of new york had to suffer. i believe it...

in response to Transit Strike!

kc: In 1980 I think women started wearing sneakers to work instead of heels...and maybe joey's right...stopped into my local liquor store yesterday, and they said day one of the strike had been incredibly busy, they could hardly keep up--everyone stayed home to drink...

in response to Transit Strike!

GGP: i am so glad someone else asked this. I too would like to know about your process in terms of obtaining these very intimate shots of people--do they know? do you ask? do you shoot and run? however you manage it, your results are wonderful. But I'd love to hear...

in response to Brains For Sale

Selig: nice... nothing like a single speed for pure two wheeled pleasure!

in response to Kissena Velodrome

joey: when the earth is empty and devoid of all life, including pigeons - there will still be cigarette butts on the planet's surface

in response to Vermin to Some
