Previous Day :: Next Dayanon (pubcomm-29.ucdavis.edu): where in brooklyn was this? Cosmo: aer suzuki, thanks for telling me about windscreen.tv, I'll have a look. I've learned by happy accident that shooting while driving - somewhat dangerous - often yields excellent photos. Dave: Hey Chris,
It has been my experience in 43+ years of life (24+ of them in Oklahoma City) that "you get out of it what you put into it". I agree that in some ways Oklahoma City doesn't compare to other big cities. But I was never prouder to be from... Cosmo: Correct, zagg, I got this photo early in 2006. I haven't done much lately because my "good" camera died, but Peter from this site encouraged me to be more open to using my "bad" camera...so soon I may have fresh images to post. aer suzuki: awesome post, thanks for sharing. this is exactly what i come to citynoise to see : scenes i may never see otherwise. zagg: I love this, doll house heh, *snicker*
thought I have to call on it --- this has to be an older photo since there is no way it is snowing right now in Detroit.
*hour away, and hot*
aer suzuki: cities, i mean... aer suzuki: it's nice to see a post from somewhere other than montreal or houston (no offense to either of those city or their inhabitants)
shot from the window of a moving vehicle? check out this site, if you haven't already: www.windscreen.tv Keith: My roomate and I are moving from Buffalo to Brooklyn next week. We were originally looking for a place in Manhattan, but there was no way we could get co-signers that made enough cash for us to get approved, so we found a place in East Williamsburg. It's... .JAONE XTC: @ dave ..yes min lived with me for a while in 1991...i lived on suffolk st, in the les before all the trucker hat hipsters took it over...hope that helps.. Carol: I awoke one morning an found a 50 poumd racoon in a pile of his/her own feces dead at the bottom of my kid's slide. Obviously looking for thrills, the critter tried the steep slide and had a heart attack/ shat its pants in the process (or became incontinent as... kman: Appalling is the lack of adventure, and negative reaction (dare i say somewhat disrespectful) and perhaps ignorance. Shark fin is extremely expensive considered a delicacy in East Asia kinda like caviar is for Europeans. Prices for a single serving can range from $10 to $65. So what you see on... groovehouse: I pretty much got lucky taking this shot, I was walking past this building and the sunset reflection caught my eye. Snap and there you have it! Sirhcbre: Is the hand on the traffic lights giving the horns? Robert: So do I! Sirhcbre: Yeah, a lot of work is being done to that place. In the picture above, he is installing new tile to the front of the store. HAWK FROM BAYONNE: PLEASE I KNOW A FEW HELLS ANGELS JUST BECAUSE OTHER BIKE CLUBS SELL DRUGS PLEASE DO NOT EVEN THINK THAT THEY SELL METH OR CRANK,THEY ARE NOW A CORPARATION.YOU SHOW THEM RESPECT THEY WILL SHOW RESPECT TO YOU.BUT IF YOU ONLY GO BY WHO SAID THAT OR WHO SAID THIS.PLEASE... EvilGentleman: Nice one. Reminds me of my trying to catch a landing jet in the reflections on my wife's office building. EvilGentleman: Far out way out, without a doubt! EvilGentleman: That face in the second photo, I have seen the same graf in just black, but I cannot remember if it was on Decarie or maybe on du Fort downtown. EvilGentleman: I would also say that this graf is definitely a contract piece done to beautify the side of the building. Looks like they are sprucing the place up a bit. EvilGentleman: Actually, that is a railing that was installed on the sidewalk to enclose an additional sales area for the Afican Art store that is there. They also painted "their" section of the sidewalk green. Apparently, they have done this in other years as well, but were late putting it in... EvilGentleman: You will love the rest of the stuff in that park. I'll try to remember to post it tomorrow. It is located on Rene Levesque Boulevard between Saint-Marc and du Fort Streets, with the westbound on and eastbound off ramps for Guy Street on the Ville Marie Expressway (Autoroute 720)... EvilGentleman: That picture was taken from the corner of Atwater and Sainte-Catherine, at the west end of downtown. The metro station is Atwater. Westmount is generally a lot more residential, but I wanted a picture of a border sign, so I wound up in front of Plaza Alexis Nihon, which is... joey: and the guy was just then installing the railing? there is no railing in evilg's photo, you know. Sirhcbre: I would argue that NOISE is the JA of Montreal. That guy is everywhere! There might be a lot of Sake that I'm missing though since my only experiences with the city thus far are Ville Saint Laurent, NDG, Downtown, The Plateau and around the Olympic Stadium. Sirhcbre: My favourite part about this place is the atmosphere inside. The guy behind the counter is always yelling at customers who are shuffled through like cattle. It's always completely full of people and the cash register is one of those old ones where the numbers pop up on... Sirhcbre: here, here! Sirhcbre: I have to find this. My old land lord (and roommate of sorts) would love this (being an architect and all). Sirhcbre: Those are some fancy street signs in Senneville. If you want people to know how rich you are, there's no better way to do it han with old english font! Sirhcbre: Also, it looks like the Westmount stop signs were only in english since "stop" is centred. I thought the problem was that they were bilingual and the government didn't even want that; they want #all# French. Sirhcbre: I didn't think Westmount was that urban. I figured it was all large stone houses and such. Which metro stop is that?
I got stuck in VMR the other day. I jumped on a random bus outside of Concordia to hopefully do some sightseeing. it ended up... jfilip: The parking ticket machine in the second photo is nearly exactly the same as the machines in Toronto's public Green P parking lots. Same interface widgets at least. Must get them from the same manufacturer (which isn't terribly surprising) just nice to see, you know? EvilGentleman: 12 Gauge - The man was passing through on a Greyhound bus, while on the way from Toronto to Vancouver. Who the heck has time to go wandering around while they have a short stop before the bus leaves again, with or without them? I have travelled this way, and... laanba: Amen! Mark: Hi, you have very good site! Thank you! anon (ool-44c2b384.dyn.optonline.net): You might be interested: On Nostrand Avenue above New York Ave (would that be Bed-Stuy by then? I'm not sure) there's a "Thank You, Jesus! Church, Inc."
I loved that church. I took a photo before I moved. Previous Day :: Next Day |
