Flower: On an entirely different point: the above state is not a replica of that which stands on top of the Royal Courts Of Justice (RCJ). The RCJ is a civil court, and also the home of the Court of Appeal. There is no statue on top of the RCJ, although...

in response to Justice Monument, Clerkenwell Green

Flower: Re: Justice Monument, Clerkenwell Green I think that Banksy is certainly an interesting guy but I am not sure that the above stunt is really terribly impressive. The words of MC Dynamite are quite frankly crass, idiotic, inaccurate and inflammanatory. It is a good thing that many of the good people...

jeeff: by the way, are there really any translation services for russian (or other languages for that matter) that actually work? i've tried a bunch of services linked from babelfish.org, but especially with the cyrillic characters it doesn't translate more than 10% of the words.

Marc: agree on the blocking ips- rotten gets a lot of noise/hack attempts and that's the best way to deal with the nastiest.. referral blocking++

in response to Torch Lake

jeeff: oh i see, i read it wrong. whew.

in response to Toltec Hivemind

Marc: not suggesting the actual music playing, just the text.. i agree that music playing is bullshit. also just a suggestion!

in response to Toltec Hivemind

lake placid: whoa, torch lake posted a picture of itself! i'm jealous.

in response to Torch Lake

jeeff: i agree with most of your suggestions (made a lot of them myself in a recent email to peter) but i must protest the soundtrack. i hate sites with soundtracks or sound effects. even if you have the ability to switch them off. to me, sound/music seems...

in response to View of Lower Manhattan

jeeff: it's kind of depressing to think of artists as the shock troops of gentrification, but definitely true in a sense. i think there are two types of art: 1) art as cool 2) art as obsession a lot of artists based in major cities fall into category 1, and i think they're...

Jamie: Forgot to mention. That last one was taken inside Santa's Ghetto. Someone posted something about it on citynoise a while back actually.

in response to There is Always Hope

Jamie: After seeing all the stuff on here lately, i went googling and came across these photos taken in London: The more I look at that photo supposedly from Ukraine, the more it looks like London's South Bank. hmmmm....

in response to There is Always Hope

Jamie: There's some more examples of this in the comments to this article (Giant Rat Destroys Liverpool). I like that is being represented here. I don't think i'd ever heard of the guy before his work started showing up here.

in response to Designated Picnic Area

jeeff: wow, a torii in the pond. i wonder what the story is behind that.

Jamie: heh, i just stumbled randomly across Paul G's comments on Swinney. I can't decide whethe he is totally paranoid, or crazy, or whether fuzzy here is a true hardcore identitity thief! Inter-linked, Inter-mingled - Symbiotic - citynoise and swinney. Intriguing.

fuzzytank: wow i really like the first third and fourth comp wise if i didnt know better i never would have thought these came from NYC

in response to brooklyn botanic garden : april 19, 2005

Jamie: Hi jacob. Took a cursory glance over your website. You appear to take a mean photograph. Rock on.

Justin: Re: PDX graffiti like ummm... There are some impressive tags, but so much of that industrial area gets canvassed by white rollers that the pieces live only for a few hours, maybe a day. And yes, the crap graffiti sucks, my area is covered with the "LMV 13," this guy even...
