Previous Day :: Next Day

Jamie: Some people are sheep. These sheep form the flock of society. Some people are wolves. We skirt round the edges of the flock looking for something different, better, not content to follow.

in response to Lost People

Jamie: The Loop the Loop looks dangerous!

in response to Luna Park: Coney Island

Jamie: deep-seated urban decay. more please. i like your style.

in response to Chicago

Jamie: This reminds me alot of the street artists that used to ply their trade in my home city of Peterborough, UK. This was years ago, when i was a kid. They don't do it anymore, i guess it's been banned by some jumped up EU legislation. These guys used to...

in response to Chicago

Jamie: Shine please :)

in response to Chicago

Peter: thanks :) its new.

in response to Midtown Manhattan from Brooklyn

Becky: That's my roof. Nice site, Peter!

in response to Midtown Manhattan from Brooklyn

trouble: no, although you made me remember about a really great little park in the middle of lake erie called 'boblo island'. i remember going there a couple of times as a kid. part of the appeal was the old steamboat you had to take to get there. ...

in response to St. Kilda, Melbourne

peter: in other words: scary detroit coasters.

in response to St. Kilda, Melbourne

trouble: damn, that looks incredible! it looks like ol' walt took a few cues from this place.

in response to Luna Park: Coney Island

trouble: old rickety roller coasters... check out 'roller ghoaster' on ifilm. i love old coasters too, living in detroit we were 2 hours from 'cedar point' which i think still holds the record for most coasters in one place. anyway, they have a ride called the silver streak. ...

in response to St. Kilda, Melbourne

peter: wow, what a story.

in response to Humboldt Park

Peter: Supposedly, Luna Park was the most well-lit place on the east coast; they say you could see it at night, even several miles out at sea. Unfortunately, faulty wiring in all the lighting (turn of the century quality, of course) caused almost the entire place to burn down.

in response to Luna Park: Coney Island

Peter: I love wooden roller coasters; the ricketier the better, heh. There are still plenty of old wooden roller coasters on Coney Island. I'll have to go out there and make pictures one day, particularly of the abandoned, overgrown one.

in response to St. Kilda, Melbourne

o: woah. those are rad photos!

in response to Luna Park: Coney Island

o: our one isn't creepy, it's still open for buisness! there is one weird thing though, the rollercoaster that goes around the perimeter of the park. it's built of wood and looks VERY rickety. i never rode it, out of fear for my life. laziness might also...

in response to St. Kilda, Melbourne

Peter: Lunapark! Coney Island! yes! I saw a special on Lunapark on pbs this winter; tres creepy and victorian; yet pensively beautiful...

in response to St. Kilda, Melbourne

o: it's luna park. i believe there is another one in sydney, but they were both modelled after one originally on coney island, i think?
