The incident occurred at 650 Hart street. The building is now a vacant lot next to Engine 218 at Central Avenue Unlike most of the photos in the FDNY archive, this one is not about the flames or charred remains. Rather, it shows victims--just a few of the hundreds of thousands that lost their homes during the firestorm. I don't have any details on the fire, but if you do, please reply!
