Hoisting an excavator/shear to begin demo of the upper floors. The concret floors were about 5" thick which is quite thin but, the steel re-bar inside the concrete was closely matted and heavy gauge which allowed us to put such heavy equipment on it. The upright I-Beams for the building were spaced at 50' apart creating a 50' grid throughout the building. We weren't suppose to have more then 1 piece of equipment in a 50' square but when we saw how strong the re-bar made the floors we usually had 2 pieces of equipment in them.
