This was where i lived during 2002. I've just come across a shoebox full of old photos which i'm busy scanning with a low quality scanner and a high quality copy of adobe photoshop.

2002 witnessed the original citynoise campaign, and until now i thought all the photos had been lost forever. Until today.

I'm reminded lately of the younger, more carefree me of a few years ago. It seems like another lifetime but i'm thinking back to 2002 here. I lived in at that time and i used to travl around, a lot. And i'm remembering a time i was sent to (London)derry on a job. I'm reminded by a photo i've just seen of a . Loyalist mural based on the 'Eddie' character used by the group Iron Maiden. cain.ulst.ac.uk I didn't take this photo, but i have seen this mural first hand. I wish i'd taken photos of stuff like this....

I used to pass this place daily. Another one of those quaint little shops that often captured my imagination. On Queen Street, not far from the heavily fortified Police Barracks (of which i have no pictures) lived this little place. It used to send me off into random daydreams about open bag surgery and hose bypasses. I miss Enniskillen. It was nice there in the summertime. They've got a castle. A real medieval looking one which i always thought was pretty cool. It houses a museum which details the history of the island town. The Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers Regimental Museum is...

The Hair Shop

I used to see this place regularly on my travels and it always captivated my imagination in a peculiarway. I never decided wheter it was open for business or whether is was an abandoned building. I took these photos of it back in 2002 with my toy digicam. I used to take photos with that thing on a daily basis. Lo-fi black and white ones. I posted a handfull of them here, but mostly on my own site, which is now defunct. Castlederg is an odd little town, just minutes from the Donegal border. Quaint but with a lingering sense of...

Northern Ireland Memoirs: Part One

author: Jamie : Lisnaskea, Northern Ireland

Enough time has passed for me to look back on my time in without sentiment. It is tempting in retrospect for ones recollections to take on a certain floral tone; which is perhaps the reason my photographic record of this period is almost entirely monochromatic. The term Ulster, is somewhat politically incorrect. Historically referring to the northern-most province of which existed before British rule, It nowadays more commonly refers to the six counties in the North of Ireland which remain a part of the United Kingdom, officially and internationally known as . But this is not a history...

Of all the pictures this is probably my favorite. These gypsy types were all over the tube and the tourist parts of London. They would swap babies around and the kids would walk around with an accordion and if you...
