A city provides adequate anonymity to allow one total freedom of expression. I use the term ‘city’ quite loosely here. Large towns, conurbations, indeed any densely populated environment tends to exhibit this resplendent peculiarity. In stark contrast to this, small towns, villages and other close-knit communities gravitate toward an air of accountability, with one often feeling an inexorable urge to conform to the bounded principles of others.
Those who express themselves artistically or otherwise in this aquarium are often dismissed out of hand as crackpots, weirdoes or outsiders, whilst set free into the ocean these self same souls can thrive amongst... author: Jamie : Lisnaskea, Northern Ireland

Enough time has passed for me to look back on my time in Ulster without sentiment. It is tempting in retrospect for ones recollections to take on a certain floral tone; which is perhaps the reason my photographic record of this period is almost entirely monochromatic. The term Ulster, is somewhat politically incorrect. Historically referring to the northern-most province of Ireland which existed before British rule, It nowadays more commonly refers to the six counties in the North of Ireland which remain a part of the United Kingdom, officially and internationally known as Northern Ireland.

Peterborough's trams lasted from 1903 to 1930. Below is an early photograph of Long Causeway from a postcard postmarked 1905. Tram number 6 was one of the original batch of twelve built by Brush of Loughborough.
This photograph taken on Long Causeway in 1929, was taken not long before Peterborough Electric Tramways abandoned its three tram routes. The bus in this picture would have been on a connecting service, also operated by the tramway company.
This 1950's shot at Peterborough bus station shows AEC Regal BCT 432 of W.H. Patch's Cream Bus Service on the Stamford via Wittering route.
