went apple picking and came upon this old, old house. found this apple had fallen and decided to place it in a prominent place befitting the old homestead. i wonder how many days and years the family that lived here woke up every morning to take care of and then harvest the apple trees that were here since this house was built. the people are gone, the house is falling down and yet the trees are still producing their crop of apples each year. the ghosts are here, still working down beneath the house, still harvesting their produce.

New Retirement Policy

the changing of the plaza. new condo units. this following humorous letter never happened at the plaza but it did happen at my last job. new retirement policy. as a result of our recent reorganization, we are going to cut down on the number of personnel. under the new plan, older employees will go out on early retirement, thus permitting the retention of younger people who represent our future plans. therefore, a program to phase out older personnel by the end of the current fiscal year, via early retirement, will be placed into effect immediately. this...
