From a collection of 'Picture Story Cards' put out by the Singer corporation's 'Society for Visual Education' division in 1966. Owing to the size of these I had to tkae them outside to photograph them so excuse the bits of reflectivity. Pubished on page 156 of the book 'Man-made America - Chaos or Control?' by Christopher Tummard & Boris Pushkarev ©1963 Yale Press Most fo NYC and all of Long Island can be made out in this high altitude photograph taken in the late 50s/early 60s. Some details of note - Verrazano bridge has yet to be started in this view. In the larger scale photos it appears that the Chase Manhattan Bank downtown is in some phase of construction.
