Located at the corner of Provost and 11th Avenue in the borough of Lachine is this Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise, with its original signage still intact. Most of them have the modernised KFC (PFK in Quebec) signage.
The bucket sign is getting harder and harder to find these days, as well. This one may be rusty, but at least it still stands.

As far as names go, this one brings some rather unpleasant smells to mind. This truck was passing through the Montreal suburb of Dorval on Autoroute 20, about a kilometer from my house, as I was on my way to run some errands.
Since the home base of these cunning linguists is in the Toronto ex-suburb of Scarborough, perhaps jeeff or hool would be kind enough to take a few pictures of the actual fishy beavers one day, and post an article about them.

A few days before Christmas, I was passing this house on 52nd Avenue in the Montreal borough of Lachine, where the homeowner was busily clearing snow off his roof before the next storm hit.
He was kind enough to pose for this picture while catching his breath.

My memories of life in this city are often centered around major events in my life, both good and bad. I think it is this way for most of us.
For this reason, a lot of what I recall comes from the hospitals where I go when I or a loved one become ill.
Although I was born in a hospital in a farm town in Nova Scotia, it is the hospitals of the Montreal and Winnipeg areas that I have had the most experiences with.
Now, I believe most Americans will be somewhat surprised to discover that health care in Canada is... author: EvilGentleman : Plattsburgh, NY
Found this plane last weekend in a partially disassembled state near the Pratt & Whitney hangar at Plattsburgh Airport (formerly Plattsburgh AFB). I could not believe my luck at finding a DC-3 just sitting there, waiting to be photographed. Too bad all I had was my cellphone camera.
All the info about the plane >>> www.airport-data.com/aircraft/N122CA.html
The cockpit
ElliMay. Note her tattoo.
The door was ajar. Tempting thought it may have been, I let it be.

Last weekend, my friend wanted to make sure the new repairs on his car were sound, so he decided to take it for a short test ride. So he and I went across the border to Plattsburgh, located about 45 minutes drive from Montreal in upstate New York.
After we ate at Ponderosa, we cruised around Plattsburgh a bit. The former USAF base there had been converted into an industrial park, so we checked it out. Lots of really cool old military buildings to take pictures of, although I forgot my regular camera, and had to use my cellcam.
Most of the...

Located in the yard of this partially burnt and abandoned church at de Courcelles and Saint-Jacques in the Saint-Henri district of Montreal, this statue of Jesus has had a pentagram added to his podium, resulting in it being known as the "Satanic Jesus" statue.
More on this church later. I will probably get around to posting my pics of it one of these days, but CE's pics are better.
