Just a few of the creatures I saw when I lived in Kangirsujuaq. This page complements the first page I did of Arctic Creatures, which was Peregrine Falcon Chicks. Other Arctic pictures I have posted include this, this, and this A caribou heading into town A herd of caribou grazing by the lake behind the town A lemming, sort of seems like a chinchilla-mouse crossbreed An Arctic sculpin, known locally to the Inuit as a Kanayuk, which means 'ugly fish'. One summer day in 1996, I was out for a ride around the tundra with my common-law wife, when we started getting dive-bombed by peregrine falcons. The pair of falcons kept swooping down at us at incredibly high speeds, which the peregrine is noted for. Peregrine falcons hold the record as the fastest living things on Earth, having been clocked at speeds up to 217 mph (349 km/h).
