ronnie and reggie kray were famous and glamourised (by iconographer david bailey) gangland bosses in the east end of london in the 60's. they both ended their days in jail, one in broadmoor, the home for the criminally insane, where a vastly more interesting character, william chester minor was either the first, or at least an early inhabitant en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Chester_Minor.
i digress. anyway, this is a take on a famous image of them which i found at the old street end of hackney road. i love the cheeky addition of the tesco bags, but the purse alludes to reggie's gayness, i think...

old timey grafitti style, saying old timey thing. on my way to the gym i spotted this and suddenly realised london actually has a tory mayor. it's all a bit 1980's.
welcome to britain.

i am not as mobile as i once was, and i have been spending time away from london, but last week ian phoned me and asked me out on a spin with the dog. charlie was as pleased as ever to see me - it's been a while but dogs have long memories. walking along the canal towpath towards viccy park we spotted this frankly beautiful artwork, which we both snagged with our camphones. cmphones rawk.

dontcha just love governments? liberal democracy is such a hoot.
anyway, the latest thing our overlords want to do is ban taking photographs in public places.
did i say how much i loved democracy?
