I've finally found an apartment to move into in Montreal for the Fall. The problem is, other than a street number and a general area that I've based off proximity to a metro stop, I don't really know where it is or anything about it. Here is what I found on Google Earth:
So this is the general area. it doesn't look as dense as the areas of Montreal I've been too but I'm at least a minute walk from a metro stop and it's quite cheap.

Ok, so I'm finally getting the next part in theis series up. Between finding a place to live in Montreal, choosing courses, work, and everything else I have to do, it's tough to find time to put these bigger posts up. Anyways, this series is the first of two parts of Downtown. These photos are from the Main Street section.
To get into Downtown from Sussex Corner, you must go across what the locals call the Castle Bridge. I don't think anyone except for historians know exactly what it's called.
If you look to the right side of...

I looked out my window earlier this evening and noticed fire trucks flying down the street with their lights on. I ripped my camera out of my camera and jumped on my bike in pursuit of the trucks.
About 5 blocks away, I caught up with the trucks. They were at a small office building near downtown. There ended up being no fire, just smoke in the hallways.
Curious onlookers on the other side of the street

I'm going to break away from my Sussex series for tonight as the next one is too big for me to do tonight considering I should have been in bed a couple hours ago.
This is another picture from my trip to Montreal a couple weeks ago. I was walking up a street off of Blvd Mont-Royal in the Plateau and saw what looked like it would be an empty lot (a rarity in the Plateau). As I got to the gap in the attached rowhouses I noticed that it wasn't an empty lot at all but a small,...

When I was born, Sussex had four car dealerships: Norad's Chrysler, Lamb Ford, Clark's Oldsmobile and another that sold Chevs (I can't remember its name). The building below used to be Norads which moved near the high school, Lamb Ford recently shut down and was replaced by another Ford dealership on the outskirts of town. Its former location is now the future site of a Wal Mart (don't get me started). The other two, which were downtown, merged to creat Clarks's Chev/Olds which is right beside Norad's. Clark's is now a church and the other has been...
