Since this apartment building was destroyed earlier in the summer and its residents displaced, the empty balconies have allowed it to become an empty canvass for graffiti writers.

 In May of 2007, I posted some photos of the old Canada Malt Plant which I took that winter. The photos I took were all of the exterior from the Canal side of the building and of graffiti on the interior silos. Last Fall, I took some photos of the other side of the plant which I am posting now, a full year later:

Leo’s Horse Palace on rue Ottawa as it looked on October 20th. Although this stable is nowhere near the largest of a handful in and around Griffintown, it is by far the best known. What I like best about this stable is that from this view, it looks like you could be on a small farm in the country, however, if you make a 180 degree turn, the skyscrapers of downtown Montreal tower over you only a few blocks away.
