Found this sign wilting in the sun on Shore Parkway east between Rockaway Parkway and Pennsylvania Ave. I guess abandoned cars use to be an issue out in these parts... Are there still lots of abandoned cars rotting in the city? Whaddya say, citynoisers? Got some evidence?

But in the very short term, there's going to be a lot of demolition. the 8 is one of the first buildings to go. There is a saying among former island military residents about the . Governor's Island, the nations oldest continuous military installation, may have a lot of cannons in its fortifications. But the Motel 8 was the only spot on the island that ever saw any...

A commute out of the past, long gone days in NJ. Not the only people to pass through the now overgrown tracks of the Central Railroad of NJ Terminal. "The opening of the new terminal (in 1989) occurred with the time of heaviest immigration to the United States from Europe. It is estimated that from 1890 to 1915 9-to-12 million immigrants were processed for entry at Ellis Island and entered the country via the terminal." But after the Fed cut off immigration after 1924, commuters replaced immigrants... "The popularity of the use of the terminal claims a record peak use of 21 million passengers...
