On a bike ride this past weekend on the north Humber trail in Etobicoke my parents and I came across an interesting memorial that you would nearly pass by without noticing.
It is for those who lost their lives or homes due to Hurricane Hazel in the 1950s.
Most of the memorial has become weathered so that it blends in with the trees and bushes along the trail, but luckily we managed to spot it.

Hydro crews all over the place these days... busy inspecting and retrofitting all the handwells in the city to prevent stray voltages.

Found a comfy spot this morning at Bedford and Bloor to watch the Santa Claus parade. It was appropriately close to a number of cafes so that coffee kept us warm until at least about midway through.
