Simple bubble letters got the nickname "throw ups" due to the fact that they were done quick, and a writer would just throw it up in seconds. Writers have their own stamp in a sense... the public would view it as sloppy, but to a writer, it was the key to being noticed quickly. NYC throw up kings such as CAP MPC, COPE 2, JA One, GHOST, KET, and CHINO BYI changes the game with their distinctive throw ups.
