There it is: Seattle's very own Space Needle. Take a good, long look. Constructed for the 1962 World's Fair, it was finished in an astonishingly short 400 days (including all of the design work). When finished, it was the tallest building west of the Mississippi River. It also had the second revolving restaurant ever built in the world. Given that the first one was in a Hawaii shopping mall that is now closed, that means the Space Needle currently houses the oldest continuously operating revolving restaurant in the world.
