Honeybird is a farming community between Hectorspruit and Barberton, near Lowes Creek in Mpumalanga. Not much happens here. The population is probably no bigger than 500 people. One of the most well known residents is a construction owner. an enormously wealthy fella name Andries. Andries' house burnt down a few years back but Andries chose not to rebuild it. Andries is a missionary and has decided that the Lord chose to relieve him of the house. He now lives in a caravan in front of the house. Traditional Swazi Dancers. It is customary for maidens to go topless. The men wear furs. The "prince" has a feather in his hair. On the day of this shoot I dropped my portrait lense and was forced to shoot indoors with a 70 - 300 mm zoom lense. I got my new EOS400 (Rebel XTi) on Friday and on Saturday went walking the dog, You may not think city when you see the pic but the scene is no more than half a mile from my house in the city of Nelspruit. In American terms you would probably not refer to a place as small as Nelspruit as a city, We do because it's the seat of our provincial Government.
