Franny,
Let me thank for you posting my painting on the livejournal site. It looks great there also, liked the nice comments about it. Unfortunately, it's impossible to answer you through that page.

So here's is another picture of Marilyn (and Joe DiMaggio), this time, on a Manhattan landscape, painted around 1997. The second photo, including the same painting was shot at an exhibition in Beijing, China, four years ago.

Franny here's another of my paintings dealing with MM, It's probably too controversial and there aren't any NYC images shown, thus no "city noise", that's why I would've preferred to send it directly to you, but it's impossible to write anything from that 62 link. This painting is at a private collection on Fifth av. NYC

Franny Wentzel: 16th Oct 2009 - 23:32 GMT

I spy a few familiar faces and other appendages...

Like Bette Davis? Jayne Mansfield, The Bard, Anne Frank and Chaplin on the top row... Jimi Hendrix, maybe Georgia O Keefe and Hitchcock 2nd row. Indira Ghandi, Che and Einstein third row. Lennon, Jesus and Elvis on the 4th.

Robert: 17th Oct 2009 - 00:22 GMT

Yes, Betty Davis' eyes. Next to Hendrix is Mme.Curie. After Hitchcock, the pregnant lady and beside her is Jose Marti, the Cuban apostle.
On the third row, next to Einstein is MM and Beethoven.
On the fifth row, after Lennon, Cervantes (the statue)and next to Jesus, Gen. DeGaulle. On the bottom row, Karl Marx, Mario Moreno (Cantinflas), a Mexican actor, (Around The World In 80 Days with David Nivens), A Picasso self portrait, the lady with the flesh jeans and, last but not least, Jean Paul Sartre. All these people, one way or the other, made deep impressions in my life.

Franny Wentzel: 17th Oct 2009 - 00:46 GMT

I've actually seen bits of one of Cantinflas' Mexican productions. I'd bought a bunch of used Betamax tapes and there were a couple Spanish language ones that I dubbed for a Puerto Rican classmate.

Robert: 17th Oct 2009 - 01:13 GMT

Yes, Cantinflas was great... but I missed a lot of people because I only had 25 spaces. If I ever paint something alike, I will surely include: Chuck Berry (who's still alive), Mozart, Mother Theresa, Martin Luther, Salvador Dali, Mickey Mantle, Popeye, Herbert Marcuse,
JFK and Marilyn Monroe again.

Graz: 17th Oct 2009 - 20:02 GMT

Robert, I'm really enjoying the pics of your paintings! I hope you continue to post them.

Robert: 17th Oct 2009 - 20:37 GMT

Graz, I'll be glad to keep on posting them. Let's see if there's time to post another one today.

Old news I know, but hey I'm new to this site ;) Anyways, plume of smoke blotted out half of London, felt like night when it was day. Took this photo from my place: Hefty black smoke to the left, not...
