I'll take of 'em!

Peter: 10th Oct 2009 - 00:03 GMT

hahaha im loving hte funny menus lately :)

this sort of post tends to be one of my favorite kinds... its the sort of place that you might go or pass every day and not think much, but sitting here in brooklyn, it seems to me like such a unique, interesting place... it looks so different than anything around here, and i cant even tell what half of the menu items are.

anyway, thats cool. and to me, its one of my favorite aspects of this site- seeing things youd never otherwise see. it makes me wonder what i pass every day that someone else far away might be interested in seeing... hmm.

also: !

as seen in today's bizarro - hot dog vendor asks, 'any breed preference?'

EvilGentleman: 10th Oct 2009 - 02:15 GMT

Here is a translation of the menu, as seen in the second picture:

Steamed Hot Dog - $0.89
Toasted Hot Dog - $1.49
"Michigan" (Hot Dog with something mighty close to a basic meat spaghetti sauce on it) - $1.79
Hamburger - $1.90
Cheeseburger - $2.21
Grilled Chicken Sandwich - $4.43
Hamburger Steak - $6.49
Subs - $6.99
Smoked Meat Sandwich - $4.65
Smoked Meat Platter - $7.09
Fries - $1.99
Fries, Family Size - $6.10
Fries in Gravy - $2.79
Fries in Italian Sauce (Maybe Spaghetti Sauce, or possibly "Michigan" Sauce?) - $3.19
Poutine, Regular Size (Fries, Gravy and Curd Cheese) - 4.43
Italian Poutine (Dunno, but let your imagination figure it out) - $4.91
Pogo - $1.90
Onion Rings - $1.90
Gyro - $4.43
Chicken Pita Wrap - $4.65
Super Sub - $7.99
Veggie Sub - $5.25
Club Sandwich - $7.25
Hot Hamburger Platter - $6.50
Italian Hot Hamburger Platter - $6.99
Hot Chick - $5.90 (I assume it's supposed to be a Hot Chicken Sandwich Platter)
Soft Drinks - Med $1.64 / Lg $2.39
Juice, Tea, Coffee, Hot Chocolate - Price Unlisted

EvilGentleman: 10th Oct 2009 - 02:18 GMT

Also, below the Hot Chick, it appears that Chicken Nuggets were removed from the menu.

Galloping Greg: 10th Oct 2009 - 02:22 GMT

I love how random the prices seem. $2.21, $4.43, $4.91, $1.64.

EvilGentleman: 10th Oct 2009 - 02:39 GMT

Yeah, I agree, but maybe if you add the 5% GST, subtotal it and then add the 7.5% Quebec Sales Tax on top of the subtotal, it will all make sense. Gotta love Quebec and the way they charge tax on the tax.

Example:

Computer is $1000.00
GST on $1000.00 is $50.00
QST on $1050.00 is $78.75
Total is $1128.75

Normal tax rate is 12.875%

Galloping Greg: 10th Oct 2009 - 05:11 GMT

Thats crazy! But at least you guys have universal healthcare, right?

EvilGentleman: 11th Oct 2009 - 02:40 GMT

Sort of. There's usually a wait of at least 4 to 12 hours at the hospital waiting rooms hereabouts, can't speak for the other areas of the country. And many treatments are not available under "universal" healthcare. It even costs to get a doctor's note these days.

Jethro: it's a food, meaning chicken 8D
