Is Moving to Troutman St. Between Knickerbocker Ave. and Irving Ave. a Good/safe Idea?
[previous] :: [next]Is moving to Troutman St. between Knickerbocker Ave. and Irving Ave. a good idea? Is it safe? Or just, any ideas on how the neighborhood is? I like the fact that the place is very close to the L-train station. I don't know anything else really. I'm a 20 year old girl moving from New England. Thanks! xoxo This article has been viewed 1038 times in the last 5 months Bushwick: 18th Sep 2009 - 00:59 GMTNo! It's a TERRIBLE idea! You will SURELY die a HORRIBLE and PAINFUL DEATH the moment you set foot in that area! And no, it is not because that area is a BAD NEIGHBORHOOD..... it is simply because I hereby put a CURSE on you, dear "novice-bella2009"! Thats right, a CURSE! MAY THE MOST WRETCHED HARM BEFALL YOU LIKE AN ENDLESS PLAGUE SET YOU EVER YOUR FOOT ANYWHERE ON TROUTMAN STREET BETWEEN KNICKERBOCKER AND IRVING! There! Now, if anything bad *does* happen to you here, you can blame "bad luck" as opposed to your stereotypical bullshit racist generalizations about this neighborhood! You can thank me later.... if you actually *do* move here and finally manage to get a clue. novice-bella2009: 18th Sep 2009 - 01:06 GMThaha. thanks! Gives me some perspective none-the-less. Other comments are welcome NYNY: 18th Sep 2009 - 01:13 GMTsome crime stats to scare anyone: Bushwick: 18th Sep 2009 - 01:33 GMTI swear. If "blogs" had have existed in the early 90s, there would be a bazillion posts on the internet just like this one... but about Williamsburg. LOL. Keep working on that perspective, novice-bella2009.... Peter: 18th Sep 2009 - 01:57 GMTlooks like somebody missed Part One of this discussion... get comfortable, crack a beer, smoke it if you got it, its quite a lengthy read... regarding that curse... you might want to stop by your local botanica and have that checked out. novice-bella2009: 18th Sep 2009 - 20:12 GMTWell thanks for all your helpful comments. I feel like I've been enlightened. Why? Who could live without a curse and a link to the local botanica. Thanks so much! Now if anyone else could just give me a straight-forward answer, no matter how verbose or succinct, that would be greatly appreciated. All I asked is "is it safe? Or just, any ideas on how the neighborhood is?" I have been very specific about the location so that it would be easier for people to help me out. So please, do help me. Is it wrong for me to ask if it's a safe area? I have not said anything to insinuate "racist generalizations". It's just that I have not lived in New York before, and I just need some help to decide which part of the city I want to move into. It would be great to hear from people around that area, more than people who seem to have too much time to bestow their curses on others who are seeking help. Thanks in advance for your help! Peter: 18th Sep 2009 - 21:53 GMTi think this area is safe, but im partial, i live here. im of the opinion that if you have to post online to ask strangers- as opposed to, say, spending some time here and checking it out at all hours yourself before moving here- then you should probably steer clear just out of principle. some of the contention youre getting is probably due to the fact that, as bushwick gentrifies, every blog mentioning bushwick is inundated with posts and comments asking your exact same question... such as the thread i posted above, which already goes far above and beyond answering your question here. all that being said, im not exactly sure what you want to hear here. read the above link i commented. google is bushwick safe? Franny Wentzel: 24th Sep 2009 - 05:59 GMTIt's more or less safe so long as you're cool with the nascent zombie population. Despite what you see in the movies they really don't fest on the brains of the living... much... Yeah you get one or two wise guy brain eaters in the bunch but that's to be expected in such a large city and the usual defences against zombification do work on them. They're pretty good at keeping out the riff-raff so that one thing in their favour L: 16th Oct 2009 - 20:26 GMTare you still looking? i live on jefferson and knickerbocker, im a white female and love it. tons of culture and lots of cheap stuff all around. its really not as bad as ppl make it out to be, take it from personal experience. S: 26th Oct 2009 - 18:17 GMTI live here on Troutman btwn K'bocker and Irving. Comment on this article..[previous] :: [next] |
