Ditch Journey in Albuquerque, New Mexico, U.S.A.!
[previous] :: [next]The subsequent bike journey that I have disclosed here, was embarked upon some time ago--roughly 3 months--in Albuquerque, New Mexico, U.S.A.! The following map represents--from red 'X' in lower right corner to green 'X' on left side--4.25 miles.
The greener slice you see is where my wheel slid.
This areas was once called a "legal yard". Meaning, it was once legal for you to paint graffiti, or "pieces".
This small black bridge is about 43 years old, and the train that connects our two cities (Albuquerque and Santa Fe [the capital]) rolls over it everyday.
In this area, just in the past week (September 3rd-9th, 2009), a man washed up here whom had died from drowning in the Ditch.
Yes, all the orange you see are ciggarette butts, and it is a fucking outrage.
Ah! Finally cool...

Lots of posts on this site are really cool, but this one, this one really takes you somewhere. Thanks for going through the trouble to undertake this adventure and post all the photos! Let me be the first to request more! EvilGentleman: 12th Sep 2009 - 17:21 GMTNice. Reminds me of some of Peter's urbex articles, such as The High Line or The Freedom Tunnel, or perhaps my own Train Derails on Bridge IV - The Aftermath (With Graf Train Passing By). But in your case, as you pass by the city, urbex goes rurex! Beautiful photography, too! Please keep up the good work. But keep it safe, hehe. CartLegger: 12th Sep 2009 - 23:14 GMTWow! That was a journey! Well captured! Were you playing chicken with the big tractor trailer truck or what? Now I wanna know more! CartLegger: 12th Sep 2009 - 23:19 GMTPS: Love the map with the color transitions! What software did you use for that? Peter: 14th Sep 2009 - 00:19 GMTaww yeah, this is awesome! i agree that this one really takes you somewhere. ive never seen any place that looks like albuquerque, especially these shots. you better plan on showing us more! this sort of adventure is the exact sort i like most. nice job, dude ;)
