Sadly it seems this complex of buildings - Wikipedia says it was the Sao Paulo Automobile Club - seems to have been replaced with skyscrapers

Peter: 13th Aug 2009 - 13:05 GMT

wow, nice! ive never seen any of those buildings... my perception of what looks like starts with at about this point in time and moves forward in a mostly modern point of view, hahaha... good job, franny. thanks for these...

livia: 13th Aug 2009 - 14:18 GMT

That's great Franny!

I have something on pictures number 2,3 and 4 here. Teatro Municipal and Vale do Anhangabaú.

livia: 13th Aug 2009 - 14:57 GMT

Pic number 8: "Mosteiro de São Bento", at the bottom. today
Pic number 13: That building on the right is the "Edifício Martinelli" ... it's amazing.
Last Pic: "Edifício Altino Arantes". Where I shot the - series.

And yes, this complex no longer exists

WOW, you guys have made a country and a city that I know practically nothing about come to life right in front of me on the page. Viva Brasil!

Franny Wentzel: 13th Aug 2009 - 17:29 GMT

If you note the circled buildings in these two pix you can figure out the relationship between the two images...
