EvilGentleman: 8th Aug 2009 - 16:11 GMTJamie, that depends on your background. I personally consider anything over 500 years (pre-European contact in these parts) to be ancient. But that is most likely due to my being Native, and thus having a much longer view of things. Things that are 500 to about 150 years old, I consider to be "very old". From 150 years old to about 75 years old, I consider as just "old", and newer than 75 years old, I consider to be either "classic" or just "modern", depending on the style. Stone and/or art deco are classic to me, and chrome and glass are modern. And for the record, I too, love seeing old ads like this one resurfacing to be seen once again. It's a window into a recently demised world that our parents or grandparents knew well. Comment on this article..[previous] :: [next] |
