Goodby Abandoned Warehouses?

Does the Bloomberg's anoouncement www.nyc.gov/html/om/html/2009b/pr335-09.html mean "goodbuy" to abandoned waterfront places? No more rust to snap pics of? Or it is just another blue dream from the blue room?

Your sense of romance is outweighed by vital economic, ecological, and ethical issues.

You may have grown up in an age of abandoned warehouses, but at one time they were in use. and let us hope that they will be used again.

not just for factories, but as parks, as docks, as community spaces.

This water is the public commons, and so the waterfront is a vital link to that shared urban space.

To clarify these issues, please refer to www.waterfrontalliance.org
