perhaps its similar to the "Warning! HOT!!!" warning message you see on almost every coffee cup these days... in other words, an easy way to avoid liability!

Never been locked in a car trunk, but have done so to someone else ... I think I should mention right about now that it was consensual and dumb teenage fun :D

perhaps the reason why its large and bright yellow is to help you find it easier when you go to clip it off before depositing someone in there? lol...
