Vila Itororó

A 1920's settlement which had 37 houses,a pool and a patio.

There are families living there today but it looks abandoned. It's a "good" example of urban decay in São Paulo.
There's a lot of historical buildings in this situation here, the government doesn't know what to do, the families do not want to leave... well ... they have no means (finacial) to do so. Usually they are forced to leave, the place is restored and turned into a cultural center.

It's a difficult situation for both sides.

I live in São Paulo and I'm making a video about the situation of Vila Itororó. I think is bullshit claim that the situation is "difficult for both sides". Brazilian law says that anyone living more than five years in a abandoned building has the property of the place. The city government is acting ilegally and immorally expulsing these people from their homes.
