Green-Wood Cemetery Night Tour

- adam - Sunday, May 31st, 2009 : goo

Even though the mob of people was at times.. a bit much. It was still cool to catch a glimpse of this beautiful historic cemetary. The night time tour with led to some interesting ghostly images in and out of the catacombs.

Nice documenting, Adam! While I will agree that it was annoying, its a calm and eerie quietude that you have captured here. Dig!

oooh, didn't know they did night-time tours! sweet photo essay.

CartLegger: 1st Jun 2009 - 00:56 GMT

pheh, you didn't have to deal with flashlights in the eyes, overcautious security guards, and annoying teenagers. Glad to do it once, but...would not recommend it.

luna park: that's too bad.

adam: Ya I've never seen these guys get so cranky ;)

Peter: 1st Jun 2009 - 16:50 GMT

actually, i was good til the drunk teenage girls started screeching rihanna songs and fat old people started sitting on top of tombstones every time the group paused for more than two seconds, heh. it was a textbook vignette of american herd-mentality. or perhaps it was the fact that 75% of the people on the tour appeared to be drunk, hahaha. some people have no respect for the immediate context. i kept waiting to spot someone peeing behind a tombstone... that would have been the flick of the evening!

that being said, it was worth it to get inside the catacombs, but at $20 a pop for such a brief logistical-clusterfuck-that-only-hit-a-few-high-points tour (especially given the giant, unruly crowd) it was clearly not much more than a money-making venture for the green-wood historic fund :(

ill post my photos in this thread when i get home, though... i did get some nice ones, all things considered...

Toronto for a Week

So, I'm going from Virginia to Toronto, where I'll be for a week with a caravan of family friends. I'm amped. I definitely want to check out Graffiti Alley...but other than that, I was wondering what's hot in Toronto for...
